According to an October 20th article published on the St. Petersburg Times’ Tampabay.com, Florida Representative Rick Kriseman (D-Pinellas) is urging county lawmakers to endorse a local measure allowing voters to opt out of the newly effective penalties of Florida’s recently amended firearms preemption statute. They just don't get it.

There has been a law on the books since the 80's that basically says that counties, towns, cities, etc had to comply with FL constitution regarding gun laws. Since the law had no teeth they decided to ignore the law, i.e. "opt-out", and do how they please.
Now that The People wanted a new law that gave the old law teeth they are crying that they should still be able to ignore the law.

Time to clean house.
