Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your feedback and take these inquiries seriously.

Gun-related deals, including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry, and clay shooting, are on hiatus as we review our internal policies for the types of deals that we feature. Groupon has always aimed to offer deals driven by local consumer preference and request; at this time, enough consumers have asked us to eliminate the category that we believe a review is warranted. A decision has not yet been made.

Please note that all existing purchases for gun-related Groupons are still valid and deals that were previously offered are not being canceled.

If you'd still like to unsubscribe, you can do so by clicking "Unsubscribe from all Groupon emails" in your account at www.groupon.com/subscription_center, or the "unsubscribe with one click" link at the bottom of our daily emails.

Thank you again for contacting us and please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Regards,

FYI, a local shooting range here has LivingSocial deals several times a year.

CCW classes, gun/range rental, etc...

You might want to consider them.

I'd say time to move on and let them know you will post their position on every pro-gun site you can find. Numbers are the only things these folks understand. Start flooding their in box with negative emails.

I am still waiting to hear back from Groupon. I sent a request for my account to be deleted.

So I just received my response from Groupon. Yes I did tell them to proceed with closing my account.

Hi Beau,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

We understand that this is a sensitive topic, and that some of our customers may not agree with our choice to pause the promotion of firearm-related deals. Groupon has always aimed to offer a diverse range of products and services to meet the various tastes and interests of our subscribers. However, at this time, enough customers and merchants have voiced their opinions that we believe a hiatus is warranted.

Please note that we have never sold guns, and this hiatus only applies to firearm-related deals including shooting ranges, clay pigeon shooting, and concealed weapons training classes. We have not made a final determination regarding this category -- we are simply taking a break and may reevaluate in the future.

Per your request, I've unsubscribed this email address. You will stop receiving Groupon promotional emails within 48 hours. I can also close your account, but I want to be sure you're aware that once it is closed, you will no longer be able to access previously purchased vouchers on Groupon.com, and any existing Groupon Bucks will be voided. Please let me know if you would like to proceed.

We genuinely appreciate your opinion and the feedback you've given us. I'll be sure to share your comments with the appropriate people.

Regards,

I also pulled my e-mails & deleted my iphone app. I sent a contact request to cancel my account. FWIW I let my NRA membership lapse ( too much junk mail & spam), but after all the anti-gun loonies started shrieking about more gun laws I renewed, this time for 5 years instead of yearly.

If you look at the bottom of those emails, you can unsubscribe. All the emails you received, you opted for.
Just sayin...

Unsubscribing just means you won't get the emails. It doesn't mean your account is deactivated. If you only unsubscribe, they still count you as a member (which looks good to the businesses that they serve).

I believe he was referring to the emails received from the NRA, not Groupon.

Since when did consumers wishes to have items removed from a business (even if coupons) start dictating policy? Dump them, and get the word out.
