Is it common for a gun store to disallow concealed carry inside their store

Not around here. Some have a sign that says to notify them prior to bringing in a firearm for sale or trade.

NO. not only is it UNcommon but I would NEVER step foot in there let alone spend any money!
What state are you in and NAME this shop.

Here is what we are doing in southern Arizona to call businesses out: Link Removed

Boycott these anti-gunners!

Thanks for the feedback. The name of the store is Arizona Shooting Range and Emporium 4325 N. State Rd. Ft. Lauderdale FL. I stopped by today, saw the sign, and turned around and left. I intend to give them a call tomorrow but I wanted a little feedback first

Tell them we, actually IN "Arizona", think they are hypocrits!
and in the REAL Arizona - we don't Eat our Own like this!

BOYCOTT this place!

I've seen signs for no loaded firearms in multiple stores in Florida. I'm assuming that covered CCW.

I don't know if they still have the sign up / policy still in place, but there is a place called "French Creek Outfitters" in Phoenixville, PA that disallowed any non-employee carry.

They have an indoor range there, and had my usual carry weapon with me, plus some others to shoot, and a Kel-Tec fold-up rifle (unloaded, of course). It is legal to carry an unloaded long gun in PA. I got yelled at because both the Kel-Tec wasn't covered, and I was open carrying. Both of which, I was told, was against store policy.

Also, when done shooting at that range, we were required to clear the weapon and show it to the rangemaster, which I did. Since this was my carry weapon, I then put a fresh magazine in, racked the slide, and holstered it (concealed). When I came out of the range area, I was told not to do that again.

That was the last time I was there.

WT's gun range and gun shop in Goldsboro NC bans guns in their store even though they give the concealed handgun course. They got big signs on both doors as you walk in. "All guns must be in a closed container. All ammo must be in a closed container. NO CONCEALED weapons."

NOTE: Four Seasons gun shop on Ash street in Goldsboro has never asked me to leave while OC'ing in their store.

"Business goes where it is welcome and stays where it is well treated". (NO GUNS = NO MONEY)

We have one here for sure that bans loaded firearms from being carried into the store. It's Gun World in Harrisville (Western), Pa. The sign is pretty prominent at the front door. Several others here including mine have no such bans.

I haven't been to a gun show in this area without having to leave mine in the car or display it as being unloaded when entering. I assume that the practice is pretty common at gun shows elsewhere.

The gun store and range that I frequent in St. Louis wants guns holstered when entering the store. No issue with OC or CCW. They just don't want people displaying their guns while waiting for range time. If you want to look at someone else's gun, you just go up to one of the counter and put the holster on the counter and one of the empolyees will remove it, check it for empty and you are good to go. All of the employees OC.
