Duty to inform when not carrying

Florida is a " must inform if asked " if carrying. But there is no requirement to tell if not carrying or not asked. Most LEOs here just figure you are and act safely. You might not even get asked unless you are going to have to get out of the vehicle. In that case, you most likely are being arrested anyways.

I'm surprised that there is a connection between the driver licensed data bases and concealed carry permit data bases. In the training I took in New Mexico, I was told that there was no connection, i.e. a law enforcement officer would not know about my CCP. BUT, reading on this forum gives me reason to pause. Last summer, several of my friends went to Canada with their campers. I was told that the Canadian immigration folks have a database that tells them whether someone has a CCP and uses that information to question them. Several of my friends had their campers searched. One of them lied to them about his CCP and was detained and had his equipment searched for four hours.

Is it true that there is a national database of CCP holders that can be cross-referenced by law enforcement from other states and other national governments, i.e. Canada and Mexico?

The link between a DL and CC permit is a state issue. In my state, there is a link. I was told at the time I applied for my first permit that before I left the sheriff's office that it was now part of my DMV DL record.

Your mileage may vary in your state.

Living as a servant of an oppressive government....or......I'll take my chances of getting shot by a nervous cop. I will obey the law. Nothing more. If a cop shoots me for being nothing more than a law abiding citizen...so be it. Hopefully, at least, my family will be set for life between my life insurance and the settlement they get from the city or state the P.O.S. was working for at the time.

I get what you’re saying but just wanted to clear something up...

They are not LAWS, but rather unconstitutional ordinances that some punk uses to control his/her subjects.

Any statute or ordinance which is repugnant to the Constitution is null and void.

It doesn’t say ‘should’ not, it says ‘shall’ not:

II. A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

IV. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
