Duracoat on polymer frame???

Redoing a used Glock for son-in law. I was just wondering for something different to do the frame. I will have the slide refinished because it really needs it but not with Duracoat.
I am not really sure it is something I should do because I believe it is does chip you can't really take off back down to the frame again.
Has anyone ever done this? What were the results and your opinion?
Thanks

I wouldn't screw with duracoat. I've been researching for a while and found that duracoat doesn't last very long. Keracote is the best way to go. And have it professionally done or you will end up spending a lot of money on the tools needed.

Duracoat last when applied correctly and yeas it works great on poly.. You need to "scuff" the surface to be painted I use a aluminum oxide for this a med grit and a lite spray will skuff the surface just enough to give the paint something to stick to.

Personally, I have never been a fan of "painting" guns. A blued or parkerized finish will last a long time if properly maintained. A coated finish just isn't going to wear as well as a finish chemically bonded in the metal. Besides, when I see all these crazy designs and colors on guns I can't help but wonder about the mindset of people who have that stuff done.

Then do not paint your firearms. Judging another firearm owner because of a color choice? There mindset is something personal or just different. In any case you would fit right in in NY city where bloomy made the painting of your firearm illegal.
