Okay, I have this Mister Know it All I deal with all to often and he says that since I have a CCW permit I cannot open carry in Ohio period that I am breaking the law. Now I have never seen anything on this anywhere. Now I know why open carry if you have a ccw but sometimes I take my top shirt off and sit outside and what not and my weapond is not concealed so am I breaking the law??????

Even though it is frowned upon In Ohio you can open carry and unless you say that you have your ccw who would know?
And if Mister Know it all knew it all he should be able to show it to you in the Penal Code

A CCW permit, or any other permit that I can think of does not remove any options that you already have. It provides you with additional options. So if you can OC without a permit then a permit does not remove that option. As someone said a DL does not mean you can't walk.
I have heard and do not know any of the details or if it is true or not that in one state if you have a CCW then you have to carry in your car differently. Here in SC we had some police try to arrest CWP holders for carrying their gun in their glove compartment rather than on their person. To make it clear our legislature passed another useless law explaining that you could still carry in your glove box or console even if you had a CWP.
If your friend is still insistent ask him to show you the code and proof.

With all due respect your friend is kind of an idiot. There is no law against open carrying in Ohio (under most circumstances) thus it is permissible. Your cwp simply allows you to carry it concealed. It says nothing about now prohibiting you from open carrying. Don't you wish people wold actual read and research before making stupid claims?? Well, don't feel bad. There's a cop on YouTube somewhere that makes the same mistake and it's all on video to show his idiocy and his astonishment when the prosecutor he calls tells him he's wrong. Talk about making a fool of himself.
