No doubt. I traveled to Jo'burg on several occasions with my old job. If you keep to the nicer areas, behave yourself, and don't look like a flashy rich American, you'll be fine. But go to the wrong neighborhood, show off too much, or mouth off to the wrong person, and you're in for it.
