Does it Make Sense to Get a .22 Pistol?

When I was going through CCW training the 22 was what they used. Never thought about buying one but since reading this thread its something to think about.

I have the Walther P22 and it is a great gun for cheap target practice and fun. It also holds 10+1 and is a legitimate carry gun as well.

...I'm thinking of picking one up also - for plinking and maybe to carry once and awhile (or as BUG)

My daughter is showing an interest in shooting and I'm thinking about getting a Walther P22 to introduce her to the sport.

I have several .22 LR pistols but the one that gets the most use is my S&W 317 . It is the same frame and same trigger as my EDC a S&W 642. In fact the 317 is a little more difficult to shoot because of it's lighter weight. I fire the 317 at a bullet trap in my garage every day. As I practice mostly point shooting, the .22 is an excellent training aid.

You can't go wrong with a .22 pistol. Much lower cost to shoot = more practice = higher skill level. Excellent return on investment if you decide to sell it.

Go for it. For some of the reasons above, and many other benifits to having a .22 pistol.
