every gun shop i go to still is selling the g3 26 and 27.are these just leftovers from overstock,or do people prefer the g3 over the g4 ?
Although I'm sure they won't keep making the Gen 3s forever, I don't believe there has been a definitive answer from Glock as to when/if prodiction will be stopped. As of now they are still making them. The current configuration of Gen 4s prevents them from being sold in CA (and possibly other places from what I've heard), so only Gen 3s can be sold there. Also, many "3" owners still want that generation because of magazine compatability issues with the 4s.
Also, I don't believe every Glock model has been released as a Gen 4, and as a result those particular models are still being produced as 3s.
