Does anyone Stack Ammo?

Quick informal survey. Does everyone stick to primarily one type of carry round? For instance I have a 1911, in the Mag is 230gr PDX1, and 230 Grain Critical Defense alternated. I have also carried in my .40 Winchester Rangers 135gr, stacked with 165gr Hydrashocks. Does anyone see any benefit, or detriment to this?
I know that I have done this as merely an indecision in which carry ammo to use and filled the mags with what was on hand. The alternating was merely a product of OCD. Curious to find out what everyone thinks.....

I carry 155 grain Speer Gold Dot and Practice with 155 grain Speer Lawman.
I can't see any advantage to mixin' it up.

The only time I've stacked ammo was in my shotgun while duck hunting over decoys - light load, moderate load and then heavy load. I would never stack my defensive loads in light of what would be unnecessary scrutiny by LE/Prosecutor/Defense Attorney post shooting. I think you would be vilified as loon cause you couldn't decide on which defensive ammo you wanted to carry. The other thing about different loads in a gun is that they do perform differently and can affect your aim, bullet POI and certainly recoil.

I believe in shooting the same ammo per load, for the main reason that different manufacturers round can shoot differently in the gun. One type could Jam, while the other doesn't. also the weight of a target round, as compared to a self defense round are usually different.

I practice with the ammo I carry and stick to just that one. When you get your ammo dialed in and it's quality, I can't see a reason to mix anything. Seems to me it might throw you off at a critical time.

I can't think of a compelling reason why I'd want to have either varying points of impact or create the possibility of misfeeds in a gun on which my life depends.

Now, if I were flying a P-51 on an escort mission over Berlin or Tokyo, I'd definitely want mixed AP and tracer...

I've heard that but I doubt that it makes enough difference to notice in a self defense situation.

At defensive combat distances, say less than 25 ft., variations in point of impact are negligible. Either of those two rounds will do the job as long as each feeds reliably in your gun. I wouldn't take the trouble to alternate rounds but neither would I feel handicapped if I had to slip in a few of the other to top off a magazine.

For my XD .45 - in non-coat weather I carry JHP only. In coat weather, I alternate JHP with FMJ... just in case.

The Ruger .357m is loaded only with .38+p JHP most of the time. A five shot cylinder is tough to alternate. LOL But I have loaded FMJ in that gun if I was going out on the road in the winter. Everyone wears a coat here then.

I stock condoms cuz ima BALLA, and am insecure cuz I never new my fatha.

Back on topic. I've alternated between HP and FMJ once or twice way back in the day as a new shooter. Can't even remember why I did it at the time.

Yes, I always stack my 230gr JHP ammo when I load them into the magazines. For practice, I stack 230gr FMJ into the same magazines. How else would I put them in?

In my Glock 17, with plus two floor plates, I carry two different mags of ammo. The PDA comes (usually) 20per box so I fill one mag with Golden Saber 124+p and the other with Magtech 115 +p. my LGS can't seem to keep the "good" 9mm loads in stock so I have to get what I can. I don't alternate rounds in gun but rather two different loads between magazines.
To make things worse, what ever rounds that I can find need to be devided between my Glock and my Ruger, depending on which one I chose to carry that day.
