Does anyone have a utah permit? And how long did it take to get

60 days, I applied in late March, 2011. I too had my prints returned. I just took another card down to the local PD and had them print me again, for free since they forked up the originals. Haven't heard another peep out of UT about it.

I think next time I'll go with the AZ permit instead of UT. That 4 hour training requirement is stupid.

I got my Utah non resident permit, March 2012, 56 days from the time I mailed in the paper work. When my safety instructor took my finger prints he thought they would not be excepted, so while I waited for my Wisconsin permit to be issued, I used lotion to soften my hands, and went back to the instructor and they re-did my prints at no extra charge.

Hi BountyHunter,

I received my Utah permit last year; the process went smoothly, and took roughly 60 days from registering to receiving the permit. The shortest I've heard of is 45 days for a Utah permit. Not bad when you consider minimal renewal fees and extensive reciprocity.

I hope that helps,

Waiting on my resident permit, should be here by middle of April. Was told that I should have it within 60 days. That will be "TaxDay".

Debit Card charged on Feb 08,2012. Still Waiting……
Quick Note don't mail it. Send it overnight mail. Regular mail takes about 2 weeks to get to them if you're in the northeast.

RECEIVED March 26! Issued March 20th. Received letter also stating about FBI background check not Completed. I'm assuming it's commonly issued with the license. Cant imagine them issuing without an OK from background check? Maybe they do a NICS check???

Probably a backlog at the FBI.
If that comes back bad, Utah will revoke your permit.
I got my card in roughly 2 months, but then I had to resubmit my prints to the Feds(couldn't read them), or they (Utah) would revoke..
My Oregon CCW card?
The OSP approves them, NICS, I guess..

I got my permit in just under sixty days. The process was smooth, and the renewal cost is only $15.00 every five years - Utah is a great place to get a non-resident permit. Also, Utah recently dropped the price of the permit to $51.00 for non-residents, while other states can be quite expensive.

I would definitely recommend getting the permit.

I'm from Pennsylvania. I had to first find someone local that could do the UT approved training for me. Depending on the instructor's schedule, it will depend on when you can take the class. The class is 8 hours, generally one day, but I have heard of some that will separate it over two days. The other thing you need to do is get your fingerprints. This will usually require a trip to your State Police. Since the instructor I chose was a PA constable, he did the fingerprints as a courtesy for us. After you have taken the class, you must submit all your paperwork. From that point it took approximately 2 months for me to receive my permit.

I hope this helps.
