Utah permit

I got this permit about a year ago. Because of the FBI background check it took almost 8 weeks from the day I sent it.

I got my Utah non-resident permit a couple of years ago...took almost exactly six weeks.

Here's a tip...

Don't pay with a check...use a credit card. If you use a check, Utah waits until the check clears the bank before issuing the permit.

I have a non-resident permit. Got mine back in a little less than 30 days. That was about 3 years ago.

Most of my students are getting theirs back in about 60 days. But since they just changed some of the rules about non-resident permits, I anticipate this time will shorten. When I got mine about 4 years ago, it took about 10 months, haha, so they have improved significantly.

Debit Card charged on Feb 08,2012. Still Waiting……
Quick Note don't mail it. Send it overnight mail. Regular mail takes about 2 weeks to get to them if you're in the northeast.

IIRC, 58 days.
Then, about 5 months later, I get a letter from the Utah BCI, asking for another set of fingerprints, as the Feebs couldn't make out the first set.
Apparently, they issue first and do the background later!
All good, although it did cost me another $20 and I had some trouble finding someone who still did ink prints.
Seems most everyone has gone digital!

Same thing happened to me. I finally got the permit, then a few days later was told to supply a new set of prints. I threw away my receipt because, duh, I got the permit, so I had to pay for my second set.

Yeah, they send off the prints to the FBI and process the permit. Which is good, because if yours are bad it doesn't delay your permit.

The BCI told me that if the second set is bad, they just run your name and forget about the prints. So now, I just do 2 sets for every student, so they don't have to pay for the second set if they are bad.

Mine took 45 days from the time I mailed off the paperwork.

Good luck

Just curious, if they process the permit without confirming FBI background check why does it take 60 days? Is it that they issue if they don't hear back from FBI within the 60 days?
