I Like the XDS45acp Does anyone else?
 
Loved it before it went back for recall & still my favorite carry arm. Springfield sent along a spare 7 round mag when it was returned, saving me the $40 I was about to spend to have a couple extra rounds available. All parts work flawlessly, including new mag.
 
My EDC, but I'm having second thoughts. While at an outdoor range I had put my ear muffs up on my head and forgot to pull them down before firing one shot. It was painful and my ears rang for hours. Now I'm wondering if I might have some hearing loss from that incident. On a previous occasion my range buddy also mentioned that it had a "strong" muzzle blast even though we both were wearing our hearing protection at the time as we normally do. Now I'm a little concerned that if I need to use the weapon in self-defense it could save my life, but I might end up with significant hearing loss. Not a bad trade, but quite possibly not necessary either... I'm wondering if the XDS 9mm might be better in this respect.

Better, but not much. You will lose hearing. I've got my electronic muffs by the bed. May slap them on very quickly. Normally use plugs and electronic muffs at the range. Have discharged a .45 XD-S at my indoor plinking range once without ears. I had a low rumble in my left ear for weeks, and worse ringing than I normally live with for weeks, both ears. More permanent hearing loss. A test. I'll be wearing slap-on ears so I may hear movement indoors, and help protect hearing after that. Your family will have hearing loss, if indoors, and they don't cover their ears. Nobody tells you this stuff often enough. We become accustomed to Hollywood bozos shooting-up everything indoors with ARs and sidearms, and nobody misses a whispered command.

That was an outdoor range. Imagine what the report is like indoors in a home; brutally damaging.

There's a thread somewhere on THR or here about the whole issue, I don't recall the forums, but search is your friend.
 
Yes I do love it but I want put it back in my rotation carry until I get at least four hundreds rounds through it. I got it back and shot one hundred round through it and almost every time at the last round the slide didn't lock back, so I would account that to the WWB I was shooting from Wally-World, hope so anyway. I'm carrying my G19 which I love to carry and I carry it often.
 
I have owned the XDS 45 for about a year, and have shot it several times. Probably about 1500 rounds have been fired with no misfires. I love the gun! It is quite accurate for a 3" barrel, and
the recoil is certainly manageable. A very good ccw.
 
I think they make quality guns. I work at a large gun store and have handled and shot a fair amount of them. I love the xd(m) comes with a match grade barrel and some adjustable grip features over the standard Xd. Also put a powder ridge precision trigger in them and grouping are amazing!

I ordered the 5.25" 9mm competition direct from the factory with excellent discount and unfortunately am having a poor experience. My coworkers all got theirs in 7-10 days. I am on 6 weeks and have had my credit card billed wrong and the wrong gun shipped to me and mine to some guy in another state. Returned the gun two weeks ago and still haven't got my new one that's suppose to ship out.

The customer service has been excellent though and told them my issue and were surprised this happened and out together a care package for me that I'm waiting to recieve with the gun.

Got another mag or two you may try? New one also? If so, I'd be calling SA. You had it before and you never got hung-up on the slide release lever? Just trying to cover all the bases here. Good luck!
