Do you load 8 rounds in the magazine, then chamber a round? Are you breaking the law?

Big mistake. If the BG comes at you from around the gas pump, you will not have time to rack the slide. If you're trying to fend him off with one arm, how are you going to do so with only one arm? Countless other scenarios play out the same way.

Get comfortable and familiar with your gun, so that keeping one in the chamber is second nature.

Should be interesting. LMAO

I always have one in the chamber, 8 in the mag, but as of a few days ago, I've had to make everyone "safer" by taking one out of the mag, so it's 7+1 for me.

Here in the Socialist Republic of New York, that eighth one in the mag is....get this.... a greater offense than CHILD MOLESTATION!

Under NY Law, Child Molestation is a LESSER OFFENSE than having 8 rounds loaded in a magazine!!!! The they call us gun owners zealots? They were so zealous about passing a POS law in the middle of the night...they didn't bother to look at how ridiculous it really was!

FYI... also... the NY Safe Act requires "registration" of what is now considered an 'assault weapon', but if you register 3, you are actually reporting YOURSELF as a FELON. DO NOT REGISTER!!!

Laws?....We don't need no stinking Safe Act Laws.... We just need to actually enforce the ones that were already on the books.
Heard the stats yesterday... over 48,000+- felons and others who could not legally purchase weapons tried to by them last year.....only 4,400+- were prosecuted.

My family and my life is worth more than supporting stupidity. Thank God I live in Texas my senators voted against gun control and I am proud of them and will continue to support them, every gun owner in NY should file a lawsuit against the state.
I agree. Hopefully Cuomo will pay for this on election day.

Lived in NY for years . I am so glad i moved two years ago to Idaho. I always carry + 1 . Condition 1 or its just a brick! Link Removed

I don't know where you live, but come to Oklahoma. I have a magazine with 15 on my left hip and a gun with15+1 on my right hip. Oh and I don't have to hide either of them, if I so wish.

So it really depends on where you live and the state laws.

I'm moving to Oklahoma ,very nice

Call Cuomo...I'm sure he can clear up all your questions...

I am sure he is busy with bloomberg trying to figure out something typical of a big gulp soda, or enforcing our precious gay civil rights are not being denied. Yet deny our constitutional rights.

The heck with waiting for election day... He should be removed for Violation of both the State and Federal Constitution!

He ordered the NY State Police (under the guise of Gun Legislation and making NY 'safer') to form a "Secret Unit" which is scouring Prescription records for LAW ABIDING CITIZENS...who just HAPPEN to also have a pistol permit...WITHOUT WARRANTS... and ordering the County Pistol Permit Offices to REVOKE PISTOL PERMITS without due process. They are looking into the "private medical records" as part of a fishing expedition to take away gun rights granted under 2A, but in the process, got caught violating the 4TH Amendment.

Now, he has the Attorney General's office sending out what look like valid subpoenas to Doctors, asking for private medical records of Pistol Permit holders....not signed by a Judge... trying to fool Doctors into violating HIPPA... all in the name of Gun Control. In other words, to him "The end justifies the means".

He and his minions are so zealous about taking away our 2nd Amendment rights, they are ignoring all others including the 4th.

Who was it that said?.... once one of the Constitutional Amendments fall, they all fall!!!

Coumo should be removed for violation of his Oath of Office and of both State and Federal Constitution!!!

For those of you in MA, CA, NY, good thing the police had guns you on the other hand can run and scurry away, screw the anti gunners, let them scurry and seek shelter, by and carry a gun and as big a magazine as you wish, and protect yourself and your family, be safe and enjoy life without hiding.

Quite frankly I could not care less where I live and what the law says. I legally purchased my firearm for the self defense of my family, my neighbors and myself; it has a mag that holds 20 rounds and I will fill it to the max. No one is going to convince me to lessen my defense capabilities based on the absolute crap being discussed on gun control---if it was good enough yesterday it is good enough today and having politicians feed off the carcasses of 20 dead children in Sandy Hook for their own political reasons is disgusting.

You do know that often when you fill a magazine, and leave it loaded for a long period of time it tends to weaken the spring. Also, if you decide to ignore the concealed carry laws of any state you loose your license, and guns. So no matter how strongly you feel about it, the law will win in the end!

That is an old wive's tale. The compression and rebounding are what weaken a spring not the steady compression.

The more you post the more evident it is you either do not own a firearm, or need some serious reeducation.

OK....go ahead and give them yet another reason to take your permit away. That's like saying..."I don't like DWI laws...so I'll show them....I'll drink that whole bottle of Jack and load up the kids for a long drive...I'll show them!!!" Then you can tell the judge you did it because you thought the law was crap! See how far that gets you.

The State of NY is LOOKING FOR ANY WAY to revoke pistol permits, including setting up a clandestine unit to scour PRIVATE medical records for antidepressants and other meds. So, let's see....they're going to find 20 rounds in your mag and say..."Yeah, we see you don't like our law....so we're not going to prosecute you...'cause you're right'....you can keep your permit" That sounds reasonable...NOT!

Also, keep in mind that in NY State, you cannot "possess" a handgun without a permit. This means you cannot own it, keep it in your home, car or anywhere else...in fact, it is illegal for you to even touch it if it is not listed on your permit (gun store excepted). It is technically illegal to handle and/or shoot a gun owned by a friend because you don't have it listed on your pistol permit. So go ahead...make it easier for the POS Governor and his anti-gun minions to take your permit...and your guns away!

Utter bunk. What weakens springs (of any kind) is compressing and decompressing. You are better off to load it and leave it loaded.

7 rounds in mag, and keep 1 in chamber..

and i thought california had it rough with a 10 round limit, at least grandfathered law was honored so im able to keep my 17 round mag :|
NY makes california look semi pro 2A :)

You make a couple good points, but comparing it with dwi and putting lives at risk is not an equal comparison . Infringing on your constitutional rights is quite different. We are not ready to roll over so easily .Should we be sheep all the time

So you are willing to be killed and be legal rather than be able to defend yourself and maybe survive. THAT my friend is what you have told me. Then again I live in SC where we are in the process of expanding our ability to have a firearm--legally. I guess living in the fascist state of NY will serve its citizens well when the garbage in the whitehouse is done with all of us.
