Do You Carry On The Golf Course?

I golf regularly with my buddies in Georgia, and we each have CCLs. I normally leave my gun in the car while I golf, but recently at one of the "city courses" we play at there was an on-course robbery. Two of the guys in the group said they will now keep their guns inside their golf bags during the round...Question -is this legal/advised or does having a CCL mean the gun has to be carried on the person?

Concealed is concealed but why on earth would you carry it in the golf bag? You would more than likely never get to it in time if needed. There are some nice kaki's / cargo pants / jeans from CCW Breakaways.com that would be great for carrying a compact 9mm, 40 or 45 and would still look respectable on the course. Just curious has anyone of you come across a 'gator while golfing down there?

I don't carry on the golf course because I am usually drinking. I don't know how comfortable it would be playing with a gun, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

Only reasons to not carry are
A: club forbids it....then I would find a new club....
B: interferes with the swing, golf bag not such a hot idea, but that's where it was the couple times I played.

Just so people know. The whole course is an extension of the clubhouse. That is why they can sell and we can drink alcohol while playing. Here in NC you can't carry anywhere alcohol sold AND consumed. Now IF its a PRIVATE course the rules might be different.

I carry an LCP in a Blackhawk #1 in my front pocket when golfing.

Hasn't bothered my swing yet...there's a whole lot more wrong than a simple gun-in-my-pocket. LOL

Ask my buddy Mike if he carries now. He was in a foursome when a robber forced them into the woods, forced them to lie down, and shot all four. Two died but two survived. Mike told him he only had six dollars--the perp said--"if you only have six dollars you do not deserve to live".

The golf course gun scene from "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas. Click "WATCH ON YOUTUBE." Very funny.

4 guys w/ clubs allowed a robber to force them into the woods and lie down?

If you're gonna die any way you might as well fight

I just got my Wisc. CCL in January, this summer will CC at the golf course (gun in the pocket might help my swing). Do you use the same set up MDing.

Nope. I don't Golf.

The $$$ and space golf courses use could make a pretty fair shooting range. Then I might carry at the OLD golf course!

Thought NC recently changed to where you can carry where it's sold to be consumed on the premises as long as you dont consume while carrying...going to look now and i'll be back...

Nope still cant carry where alcohol is consumed. Except your personal house.

4 guys with clubs--no one expects to be robbed on a golf course--especially ten years ago. Like others I carry always. After my neighbor was robbed/killed in his garden I vowed not to be a victim--anywhere.
