Did South Carolina become a 'Bloomberg State'?

Haven't checked in for a while, and couldn't believe my eyes, when I hit the NC map to see where my CCW reciprocity may have made some gains, and now I see SC no longer respects NC CCW permits? Did I see that right? WTF? I never thought I'd see the day when a God Fearing, gun-respecting state like South Carolina, formerly a solid citizen of the old South, bent to the likes of Old Commie 'Big Gulp' himself. If this is true, South Carolina should be ashamed of itself!

Actually it is because they don't agree with NC policies. At least we don't need a permission slip to purchase a gun...

Don't know what button I hit, but I tried it again, and it appears my permit is still honored in 38 states, to INCLUDE South Carolina (thank God for small favors).

...and the NC policy is that the Second Amendment shall not be infringed. I've carried thru SC many times in recent years, and as a kayaker and camper have been prepared for critters on both two legs and four. Like about 99.99% of my fellow conceal carriers, I didn't spend good money and time seeking a CCW so I could terrorize the general public. It is so I can protect myself and my family with the best available defense.

As to the response that SC doesn't agree with NC policies... well, we'll just take that for what it's worth!

says the person needing a permission slip to purchase any weapon...and that also cant carry into ANYWHERE that you pay an admission to...and that's regardless of the alcohol rule or business owners's will.

NC, now under NEW management, has REPUBLICAN Governor McCrory, AND a REPUBLICAN State House, AND a REPUBLICAN Senate, which just this week changed all those little rules the Democrats left us about establishments serving alcohol and charging admission (goes into effect 1 Oct 13). I can also take a gun in my vehicle on school property... how's that going for you in SC? We've even gotten a few schools with armed teachers! As for requiring permission to buy a gun, my CCW is all I need to buy a gun.

A - we have cops IN our schools, and have for years. I would rather have a trained LEO than a Liberal Arts degree protecting my kids. If the teachers want to carry I'm fine with that too.
B - If you didn't have your CCW, you would need an alternate "permission slip" to buy a handgun. SC, no permission slip required for purchase. We still need one for CC, but there is Open Carry legislation in the works.

I don't care what degree (or not) somebody has, but I think the knowledge that somebody will shoot back, long before the 10 minutes or so it takes for a police response, is a clear message to the wacko's who shoot kids because it's easy that their open season is over. 'Gun Free Zone' signs should make the parents who send their kids into them subjects of reckless child endangerment. Just FYI, Columbine had a 'Resource Officer', and that wasn't much of a deterrent. Arming teachers and allowing CCW to carry in schools means not knowing where the defensive firepower may be, and makes it much less a prime target.

(I think the difference there was that it was students at the school who did the shooting, not a random stranger) Arming teachers and allowing CCW to carry in schools means not knowing where the defensive firepower may be, and makes it much less a prime target.

I think the last part delves into the OC/CC argument. Criminals and the criminally insane tend to not be gifted with common sense. Should the teachers be allowed to CC? Sure. Would I like to have a uniformed, armed, overtly obvious reminder as well? Yup. Why do we have speed limit signs on the interstate every few miles? Wouldn't it save money to just have one at the entrance ramp when you get on the highway? We have short attention spans and need to be reminded of things. Resource officers can provide that.
