Diamondback DB9 - Very Small 9mm Pistol

I handled one of these at a local gun show a few weeks ago. Very nice little gun - slim, sleek, light - you could pocket carry this in a swim suit (beach ninja).

I've had a DB380 for about a year-and-a-half. Mine is a great little gun, so I overlaid my enthusiasm onto the DB9.

Specs are as follows:

Capacity: 6+1 Rounds
Weight: 11 Ounces
Length: 5.60"
Height: 4.00" with mag
Width: 0.80"
Barrel Length: 3.00"
Firing Mechanism: Striker Fire
Trigger Pull: DAO 5 lbs

They also warn you not to load +Ps in this critter or you'll blow yourself up.

Anyone else seen/noticed/shot a DB9?

Try looking at this one, it takes +P and does not have a slide release lever thus a very clean and racy... What do you think about it, being it's MSRP is to be about $475, so street price might be less.

I posted this video in another thread, but I'll put it here for your parusal:

I know the thread is about the DB gun, but thought I'd hijack it as that seems to be a more popular activity here!

If you buy a diamondback you might as well get some postage ready to send it in. This is their second failed launch and it won't surprise me when they bankrupt. I wanted one so bad don't get me wrong, but they are lemons more often than not so I passed

Until a few weeks ago I had never heard of Diamondback guns when I saw some at a gun show. I was interested in them so I did some Internet searching and you are the first person to say anything bad about them. I don't know a thing about them other than what I have read on the Internet and what I saw at the show but this strikes me as strange that you say they have a bad reputation when everything else I have read was the opposite. Just wondering.

Have you gone to the actual diamondback forums? There's a few fan boys who will defend them until the end but its been problem after problem with them. The same thing happened when they launched their .380. It's actually pretty interesting you only saw positive reviews, when I was researching them I only found negative haha! Mostly people saying wait a year+ until all the kinks are worked out. Don't get me wrong both the 380 and 9mm are cool looking and feel great in the hand and I would really like one for myself, I'm just saying be prepared to not have it for about a month because its highly probable. I gain nothing from bashing diamondback, just giving out the info I've gotten while researching.

I wish so too. Glock would sell them as quick as they could make them.

...And tuts40, I dig the little Beretta; seems like a slick little package.

One of my big problems is that I like LOTS of STUFF...
Yes, I love Glocks (currently own 4) / they're ugly, simplistic, and awesome.
Yes, I love 1911s (got 2 for now); they shoot where I point.
I love my little Diamonback 380, my Kahr PM40 is chunky little dog with a big bite, my Keltec PF-9 that slips into most any pocket and shoots damn straight, my wife's little Keltec 3AT at 11oz loaded and accurate too, my old CZ-82 that shoots on mind control, my High Standard DA 22mag derringer that gets lost in a bathrobe...fellas, I'm not even mentioning the 22s and the just-for-fun stuff... I guess I just really enjoy firearms. The truth is, there are more guns I can find something redeeming in than not.

OK, so now I've hijacked my own thread...beat me up, make me cry, tell me why I gotta be a Glock guy or a 1911 guy only...oh, and don't miss the fact that my carry guns vary in caliber, too (22mag, 380ACP, 9mm Makarov, 9mm Luger/Parabellum, 40S&W(my favorite), 45ACP, 357mag).

So kick me hard / show me the error(s) of my ways!

Kevin it dont count if you hijack your own thread,LOL, I almost got a DB-9, but I was lucky to shoot one, that little gun may not be the biggest POS I ever shot but its close, stings the hell out of your hand, tough to hit anything further away than 6ft, and looked to be very cheaply made, put another 100 bucks with it and buy a good gun, and for the record I have several to compare shooting quality, NNA 22 mag, Taurus TCP, Taurus 709, Glock 26, 27, 23, Gen4-19, 31C, 36 and 21, Sig 226-40, Springfield 1911, 454 Super Redhawk,

I've been reading the threads on the DB-9 and find this little gun getting a bad rap it doesn't deserve. I have no interest in it's success other than owning one.

I've shot a couple of boxes of ammo thru this gun and haven't had one jam, except for when a friend held the gun wrong, and got his fat thumb in the way.

I've been shooting the PMC 9mm Luger 115 Grs. FMJ rounds. I would suggest shooting a couple of boxes of your choice of rounds thru your gun, and if it doesn't jam, stick with those. Read the manual, and don't be stupid by shooting the +P rounds thru it.

The only complaint I have, (and I hope some rep reads this) is that I can't get a second magazine for it. If something happens to it, I'm screwed. The next pocket gun I get will be based on extra magazine availability.

I have a DB9. It sat at my gunsmith's bench longer than at my house.

Walking pins: They sent out a fix.
Chipped feed ramp: No interference with operation.
Cracked frame: sent it to them and they sent me a new frame.

However, I cannot tolerate a Semiauto with poorly designed magazines that tend to weaken over a short period of time and that are not reliable. I had 3 different magazines. None were reliable. It does not lock back.

The gun shot fine, as long as it could feed or not have a FTE. Accuracy to 15 yards was no issue. It can be punishing to shoot. It is not supposed to use +P and it won't feed anything bigger than 125 grains.

It looks like a Glock. It is not.

I love my DB380, I thought I was having a problem until I read the book, when you empty clip you have to rack slide to reset the firing pin, otherwise you will have problems. Since I figured this out No fail to feeds or any other problems, very comfortable carrying this little gun!
