Detroit FreeP writer calls complete gun ban "useful"

In aftermath of triple, foreclosure eviction-related shooting,

Nor am I making the case for a ban on handguns (useful as that might be if we could disarm Michigan's unlicensed gun owners as well as the law-abiding ones).

Tragedy is about guns, not foreclosures

Yes, let's just forget the FACT that, since Detroiters began arming themselves in the absence of police, violent crime for the first quarter of this year was down 25% versus the same time a year ago. Yes, in the short term, justifiable homicides were up in the city; but even those numbers have been on the decline as criminals finally learn that the risks outweigh the perceived benefits of their crimes.

So now Detroit will be known for lack of power and lack of brains.
I would like to know if the liberal minds behind such thinking actually have firearms at home. I'm willing to bet they do.
Elitists think they are the only people capable of safely handling and owning firearms. The rest of us are to ignorant to be intrusted with this right.
