Desert Eagle 50ae grips

I recently acquired a DEAGLE for Christmas from my fiancé. I ordered it all chrome. The gun looks amazing but I wanted and ordered chrome floor plates for the mags. Well I got them the other day and the "chrome" is just a dull aluminum finish. Not happy with Magnum Research. Anyone else have this problem? Also I would like to get polished aluminum grips for it and remove the rubber hogue grips. I'm used to shooting a S&W 500 so I don't think hand discomfort will be an issue. Any thoughts?

I shoot a 44 and prefer the Hogue rubber grips with finger grooves...it's what works for me. They just don't look like anything special.

Re the base plates I think that they have the same chrome finish (matte ?) regardless of the chrome finish on the DE. Personally I order extra mags with black plates as they are easier to mark for keeping track of any possible malfunctions. Besides which, other than while in a holster, you'll never really see them.
