Deputy shoots self in leg by accident

A Pima County sheriff's detective accidentally shot himself in the leg while getting ready to attend a firearms qualification Wednesday afternoon.

Here we go again. Was it an accidental or negligent discharge? What kind of weapon was it, etc. This should be good for quite a number of comments.

LEO's should have mandatory training required before being allowed to carry a gun without a license. Especially since they are allowed to carry in schools..... it's for the sake of the children, of course.

That's what people tell me, anyway. Even some people on this forum.

My grandpa use to work with a deputy who shot himself in the a$$ with his 1911 in the locker room. His safety got flipped off when he removed the gun from the holster, changed his clothes and re holstered the gun and BANG no more right cheek.
