If all ready posted I am sorry to post again.
According to an article by Mike Adams on Monday, the Department of Homeland Security is seeking to purchase 7,000 fully automatic rifles, which the Department is referring to as “personal defense weapons.”

The solicitation for the weapons reads: “The scope of this contract is to provide a total of up to 7,000 5.56x45mm North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) personal defense weapons (PDW) throughout the life of this contract to numerous Department of Homeland Security components.”

The solicitation continues that the guns should be select fire, so that they fire both semi-automatic and full auto (the true definition of an “assault rifle”). The rifles will also take so-called high capacity magazines, “capable of accepting all standard NATO STANAG 20 and 30 round M16 magazines (NSN 1005-00-921-5004) and Magpul 30 round PMAG (NSN 1005-01-576-5159). The magazine shall have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.”

This large order of firearms would seem to fit with the nearly 2 billion rounds of hollow point ammunition that the DHS has ordered, which includes .223 caliber rounds, the civilian equivalent of the 5.56x45mm NATO round.

The reason for these ammo purchases is unknown, as the Department has refused to give a reason for this unusually large amount, going so far as to illegally black out information on a solicitation after people started noticing the purchases.

The media has downplayed the ammo purchases as being for training, but hollow points are not used for that purpose. Full metal jacket rounds are used for the purposes of training.

Those of us watching Obama closely know that he promised to create and arm a new domestic army equivalent to the military. It has been happening right under Congresses nose without a peep. Now finally we see some concern. We can only hope this concern is sincere and won’t disappear when NJ Congressman Leonard Lance returns to DC.

Here's video of Congressmen Lance:

Yep, yet another double standard in play by those on power. Just think, the people DHS has working for it are not exactly the cream of the crop, so Im not so worried about being shot by them. More of the caliber of spray and pray according to prior TSA agents. I would be more concerned if they had Cricket .22 as that would force them to learn how to shoot instead of pull and pray.

They're gonna need nearly 2 billion rounds for 7,000 AR's and 2700 light armoured tanks for the new FEMA Concentr...uh ..Relocation Camps they'll be guarding.

Our government could kill us all at any second with the many nuclear bombs they have. No need to fear monger over government ammo and rifle purchases when the potential for us to die instantly has been here since the development of WMDs many decades ago. They dont need rifles to kill us, trust me.

Yeah, but nukes do not leave much to control and enslave afterwards. Also huge infrastructure costs. I don't think that even the administration is THAT stupid.

Ruling a radioactive wilderness entering nuclear winter is unlikely to be appealing to even the craziest would be dictators (king).

My brother, I am praying, and will continue to pray, that you are right. This latest suspicious act by our government is worrying me something fierce.

Only decades ago, a young, baby faced boy of nineteen sat in his B29's tailgunner position, throwing enormous 50-cal lead projectiles at a very visible, tangible enemy. That enemy's guilt was clear from the moment he attacked our homeland, an act that carved out a very well defined path that our retaliation must take.
How I envy that boy. My father knew who to shoot. And he knew why.

And look how far we've come. We tore it all down in one damnable generation. Here I sit, that boy's son - not his grandson, HIS SON - wondering what my own countrymen who call themselves my "government" are up to.
One generation was all it took. How proud the bastards must be.

Know what happened today? I sold all my weapons to a guy in PA. Got rid of em all.
Yep. Nothing to see here, officer.
Move along.

Jeez. I just re-read that last post.
It sounds like I did a line of bad toot off my iPad or something.

See how upset you make me, Barry? SEE ?!?

Kill us off. Who would work the fields and make the widgets if we were all dead? Nobody thinks they'll kill us off, just the one's who fight back. The rest will work the mines and factories, clean their homes, cook their food. You know what I mean?

Gejoslin, this reminds me of a movie I watched on St. Patrick's day about the Irish civilian uprising around 1911, against the oppressive British rule. Y'know, Brit Bobbies hassling the locals in pubs and on the street, that kind of stuff.

When it became clear that local militias were going to initiate a clash with the Brits, the lead character's mother was dead set against the uprising, because she was fearful and wanted there to only be peace.

The uprising occurred, a lot of Irish civilians were killed, and the lead character manages to escape with his life and stagger home. He arrives and tells his mother that they'd been beaten back, and for now it was over.
Her joy is measured, but it's there, and she says with enthusiasm "There's peace, then!"
Staring ahead past his mother as if dazed and angry, he replies, "Aye. For the dead."
