Well, I got the letter from the Maryland State Police saying that my application was denied -- no explanation, no justification, just denied. Of course I will file the appeal.
Ugh, at least if they are going to deny, they should expand on "why" not just lay out some arbitrary decision.
 
Nah, it's just that he lives in the Socialist State of MD whose government knows better how to run his life than he does.


Good luck to you Dr. D. Let us know how the appeal goes. If it doesn't go well, head north to PA, west to WV or south to VA. You'll be able to carry in all those states.
 
Sorry to hear you got denied, Doc, and best of luck with your appeal. I lived in Southern California for many years, where it is virtually impossible for a citizen to get a carry permit, so I think I have a reasonable amount of insight into the libtard police state. I really hope it works out for you, but if I were a betting man, I'd say the odds are always pretty long when you're essentially begging the government for your rights. They are counting on you just being a good little serf and going away, but if you have the resources and the love of the fight, take it as far as you can. There may even be some attorneys in MD who support 2nd Amendment causes that would assist you.

Interesting, Doc, if the appeal goes bad, you may even want to get in touch with one of the gun groups (N R A, GOA, etc.) to see if they would help you take that fight further.
 
Is there anything in your past that could trigger it? Perhaps they pulled the wrong persons profile? That once happened to a friend. They had another guy's records with the same name.

It is MD. They have a burr in their butts about citizens having them on nearly the same scale as Chicago does. Just like NYC rules NY, Baltimore rules MD.
 
Went to Havre de Grace, MD a year ago for my wife's grandmothers 100 year old Birthday Party. Stopped by the inner harbor the day before for crabs. I called MD State Police to inquire about CC in MD with my NC and FLA CC Permits. They said NO, in no way will they allow a fully vetted licensed citizen to CC. Without a permit even transporting a firearm MUST be unloaded and ammo in a separate locked container. Talk about fascism.
You all have no idea how naked I felt spending those few days up there. UN-friggin believable. And this is America?

Watch out for VA they just voted in an anti gun governor. Come to PA. As long as your clean you will get it. I have my Pa residents and Florida non residents permit. The democrook Attorney General is doing all she can to change things but it's not working.
 
As I recall from a friend who made the mistake of living in MD, you have to have a very good reason for needing (not "wanting") to carry and you have to prove it. Example, you need to be making hefty bank deposits (need to show weeks of deposit slips from throughout the year that show a substantial amount of cash). My friend who lived on the MD - WV border, was also denied. He then began looking for land in WV to establish his residency since we (WV) believe in the second amendment (note: this thought, however, has not been shared with all of our elected turncoat senators in Washington as you are aware)! Anyway, come to WV and enjoy some of your declared freedoms.
 
I must travel through MD to get from one city in WV to another place in WV ... I am legal CC in WV but lock my unloaded firearm in a locked container in the trunk as I pass through MD just in case I get pulled over for something. I would never consider living in MD.
 
They only read far enough into the application to see the address to know where to send the letter of denial. Then, straight into the shredder (or more likely, some database of potential domestic terrorists.)
 
We believe in the second amendment in WV. I guess Maryland just wants to continue their controlling ways.

This made me smile . . . I can just see this happening in today's crazy world.
 
I left MD in the early 90s. What would you expect from a state with our dysfunctional diamond stuck in the middle of it?

If the entire world were to get an enema, D.C. is where they would stick the tube. I suppose MD never got over the stigma, or the stench.

I lived in Annapolis.
