I moved to Delaware 5 years ago work related,i was born and raised in the hills of western pa this is an open carry state,as long as the hand gun is in open sight its legal to carry,,,now TRY to get a concealed carry permit is almost impossible,,,if you want to carry for protection,,,lol well you must have a dam good reason, like if you are a business owner and carry a large amount of cash for a deposit you may be eligible,,,I tried to apply and was denied,,,I lived in pa and had a ccl for 30+years every 7 years a 20.00 reinstatement charge but it was worth it but anyway 2 years ago we ran into unexpected cash (AN INHERITANCE)SO I STALKED UP,,,i bought 7 hand guns and a couple shot guns,,,no big deal right?wrong 1 month latter i was in my local gun shop and seen a nice little 380 for my wife,,,so we did all the paper work they done the fed back ground check,ok.then state DENIED!!!!what a shock that was,,,my back ground was clean but they felt i was buying way too many hand guns,,,,wtf but they gave me a phone #to call,,home land sec,,they said i have a hold until 2011,,,i really don't have the cash for a lawyer,,but i believe they right the laws as they see fit

Welcome to the Soviet Socialist States of America. Just another big bureaucracy where you have rights, only until someone arbitrarily decides you don't.

Just, FYI, I tend to keep my firearm purchases down to 1-3 per year. I think though, if you got a C&R FFL (Curio and Relic) you'd not run into that problem. Even if the firearms you purchased were not C&R eligible.

In the mean time, check on the pro-gun websites, see if you can find a lawyer who might advise you what you can or can't do.

This is going to seem like a bass-ackwards proposition, but can you buy property in SC? If you are a property owner in SC, you can get a SC non-resident carry permit which is valid in DE.

I wish DE would adapt shall-issue carry. But for now, I am trying to sugest any option I can. :cray:

I do believe that a DE resident must have a DE license...

(j) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code to the contrary, the State of Delaware shall give full faith and credit and shall otherwise honor and give full force and effect to all licenses/permits issued to the citizens of other states where those issuing states also give full faith and credit and otherwise honor the licenses issued by the State of Delaware pursuant to this section and where those licenses/permits are issued by authority pursuant to state law and which afford a reasonably similar degree of protection as is provided by licensure in Delaware. For the purpose of this subsection "reasonably similar" does not preclude alternative or differing provisions nor a different source and process by which eligibility is determined. Notwithstanding the forgoing, if there is evidence of a pattern of issuing licenses/permits to convicted felons in another state, the Attorney General shall not include that state under the exception contained in this subsection even if the law of that state is determined to be "reasonably similar." The Attorney General shall communicate the provisions of this section to the Attorneys General of the several states and shall determine those states whose licensing/permit systems qualify for recognition under this section. The Attorney General shall publish on January 15th of each year a list of all States which have qualified for reciprocity under this subsection. Such list shall be valid for one year and any removal of a State from the list shall not occur without 1 year's notice of such impending removal. Such list shall be made readily available to all State and local law-enforcement agencies within the State as well as to all then-current holders of licenses issued by the State of Delaware pursuant to this Section.
