D-Day 68 years ago today...

Done told her once...
It's sad really. Had the morning news on most of the morning. Nothing even said about it. What a short memory and piss poor education system we have and have had in this country over the past couple decades.

At least this one alleged spoiled rotten baby boomer has not forgotten, and never will.

Make that two boomers that haven't forgotten, and I'll bet there are many more. About two weeks ago we went to the 90th birthday of a family member who crossed Omaha beach that morning, and he remembers it well. But he would rather talk about the Bulge! Seems that he thought being chased by a Panzer was more interesting then crossing a beach! A great man, and I'm glad he's still with us.

I had a great uncle who dropped into Normandy on D-Day with England's 6th Airborne division. He was a citizen of the UK.

15-20 yrs ago there were WW2 veterans all over the place but WW1 vets were hard to find. Now it's the WW2 vets that are hard to find. The youngest are in their early 80s. It won't be long before we're talking about the "last ones".

I agree, I have heard very little about it. But there are many of us that will never forget and will always be greatful to these great soldiers and their courage and sacrifice.

well, more important things are out there to talk about like Link Removed (actually, I am in love with her lol!!) , Link Removed , Sales of Jessica Simpson , oh and we can't forget about this important american icon Link Removed

Just found out that the POS currently claiming to be a president decided to do fund raisers rather than attend any ceremonies to honor the event.

Fox News was the only channel that I heard mention D Day. Our fearless leader celebrated with fund raisers. I have an uncle buried in st.Lorraine Military Cemetery in France along with 11,000 other Americans. Even the French have more respect for what these heroes accomplished than many of our fellow citizens, our president, and the news media.
