Seems to me the reflector is an awful convenient point to aim at.

The badges/id devices, whatever the heck you want to call them is not going to deter a police officer from pointing his gun at you and telling you to drop your weapon when the SHTF.

And besides, don't the bad guys shoot those people first who they know have a gun?!? That's what people keep telling me, anyway.

Seems to be a money making scheme to take advantage of those who like to show off their concealed weapons permits to others.

Yep. That IS exactly what I am thinking.

Wow, I was going to order one for my state, Oklahoma, but they seem to be out of stock for Oklahoma. Actually they seem to be out of stock for all the states. Sales must be really great or the whole thing is one big scam.

And why do I want something else to take up space on my belt. That space is better used to carry my Sig. And some extra magazines. And my cell phone. And my SOG Paratool. You know all that important stuff. I will just continue to carry my permit in my wallet and tell Mr. Policeman I am armed when stopped as the law requires in Oklahoma.

If you scroll down to the cards that come with the wallet to the one for the Law Enforcement Officer underlined it says " I do not wish to loose any of my rights"

And the card above and left of that one:

"In case my weapon was stolen during from my home, vehicle, or during any type of incident, here is the data on my carry guns:"

IMHO, I would rather spend my money on these:

It's the same concept I read about using a CCW badge and it's not really 'that' bad of an idea. I had read a good use for those tin badges would be to wear it on your belt, next to your weapon, conceled. If for some reason lets say you bent over and part of your weapon was exposed, the badge would be right next to it and people "shouldn't" get startled, seeing the weapon and CCW badge next to each other. Just playing devils advocate there, it's not really a bad idea given that particular use. Anyway, not trying to get off topic.

I think it's kinda like all the Ron Popiel inspired kitchen gizmos that have been on the market for years. But this one just is reflective, it doesn't slice, dice and puree.

If the badge looks even close to those the LEO's wear, they are illegal in North Carolina, and you are subject to arrest for impersonating an Officer of the Law... Thanks, but no thanks!

Keep it concealed and there will be no need for a badge.

The wanna be badge subject has been beaten more than the dead horse.

Wear a tee shirt that reads "Legal gun carrier, please don't shoot."

Peace...

I am a proponent of concealed carry, this means no advertisement of my doing so. I am also not a police officer, and do not wish to pretend to be one, so no badges. If need be I will lay my gun down at the direction of an LEO and sort things out from there. I understand the desire to identify oneself as law abiding but carrying a badge can lead to more confusion than what it's worth.

What we need?

I don't see why we would need an alternative for a badge. We don't need a badge showing just like we don't need a gun showing when we leave the house, but just as what type of gun anyone carries is a personal choice so whatever else anyone does as long as it is not illegal should not matter to others and it is also a personal choice.
Some people wouldn't even wear a NRA tee shirt or a GOA tee shirt but some other people that is what you see them wearing all the time. Some won't have a NRA decal on their car, they don't want anyone know that they have guns. Some have decals all over the place on their vehicle.
If anyone want a alternative for a badge get it. If anyone wants to carry a badge do it, it's their money. If anyone doesn't want to have a badge don't get one. If anyone wants to shave their hair off and wear a tee shirt that says that they are a skinhead then do it.
If I did what others wanted me to do I wouldn't even have a CCWFL or a S&W 442 and I'd be voting to ban all weapons. And I would of voted for Obama.

Just get one of these.. I might get one.

As someone once said "A fool and his money is soon parted". Just another scam to get your green.:sarcastic:

I must be out of touch. I didn't even know there was such a thing. I have too much junk to carry around already. assachusetts issues its own ID card with a PIN number but nobody has ever asked for the PIN yet.

Don't Telegraph

Carrying concealed gives the advantage to you, if you appear a non threat, the advantage swings to you, in boxing. if you telegraph a punch it can be blocked, same applies to CC, you appear to be a non threat and in reality you are a major threat. Fights are only fair in the ring, in the street fair does not apply, it is about coming home alive and all is fair. Criminal means outside the law, so if you wish to win the fight you have to step outside the ring (think out of the box) whatever it takes to win.

Badge Alternative

I have gotten to be an old man by not acting like I am Rambo's older brother. I don't need a badge or any other sign to identify myself to some BG who might be intent on doing me bodily harm. I use a cane when I walk now and that may make a BG think I am an easy target but I do have my artillery on my hip so the surprise is going to be on him. I do not want anything to advertise I am carrying and that might put me at a disadvantage. I may be old but I am not stupid. :biggrin:I can't fight any longer but I can damn well pull a trigger.

Sales must be good. I scrolled through the page and every state was "out of stock". Very bad business plan if they cannot keep product available for shipment. :sarcastic:
