Can you open carry in CT. License says nothing about concealed carry only. I have no restrictions on my lisense. So can i open carry?

This is covered in another post. Open carry is legal in CT, just not advisable as you may be arrested for breach of peace. All police departments have been advised that OC is legal but they have been for years. They disregard the legality of OC and enforce around it. I've taken some heat for the following statement but I'll make it again. If you want to OC, you may wind up being the test case as many have been arrested for breach while OCing and have lost at trial. Yes, some have had charges dropped as well. At the very least, CT will revoke your permit and not give it back, as it is a may issue state. Check the other forums and you will see all the detail on these cases and the statutes involved.

I will echo what SGB said. The CT Statute reads you can carry "in a manner that does not cause for alarm". I am also in CT and I WILL NOT carry openly unless at a range or home. Check out the CT state forum page there are citations of the statutes there. The Breech or Peace statute is so vaguely written that if anyone calls the police with a MWG call, you will be charged with Breech of Peace and lose your permit. You may get it back but probably not.

If you are truly interested in open carry I would suggest also going to opencarry.org as they seem to have the most information and interest in this particular aspect of carry.
