Preservation & Protection of the Right to Keep & Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act of 2008: Creates "Preservation and Protection of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act of 2008"; prohibits public or private employer from prohibiting customer, employee, or invitee from possessing any legally owned firearm that is lawfully possessed & locked inside or locked to private motor vehicle in parking lot; prohibits such entities from violating specified privacy rights by verbal or written inquiry, etc.

Effective Date: July 1, 2008, and shall apply to causes of action accruing on or after that date.

We still need the Senate to pass it's version of this bill and for the bill to go into committee to negotiate the differences between the two versions. I am very hopeful that we will have this law on the books but it also looked like it last year until the VA Tech shooting last year killed it.
