Cross Breed Holster For Ruger LC9

I just got my Cross Breed holster in the mail today. As near as I can tell they seem to be the only company that makes left handed holsters for the LC9. I got the horse hide version. I really like horses and it saddens me that one had to give his all to make my holster but WTF it's a great holster. The leather was very stiff. I softened it up with several coats of Obenauf's Leather Oil. The horse hide was pretty dry and it soaked the oil up pretty good as well as making it a lot more plyable. The oil also darkened the leather. It was a lite tan color and it's now a dark mohogany color. I think I'm gonna like this holster. It will allow me to open carry while riding my motorcycle.

I have a Whitehat I use and it works real well on the bike. Never thought I would use the tuckable feature and I was surprised. It worked better than I thought.

Wonder if the leather oil will transfer to your clothes and skin. I thought it was designed to absorb sweat so what is the point of leather oil? No offense but seems odd.

The manufacturer recomended applying a leather conditioner to the holster to soften the leather and make it more plyable for breaking it in.

probably don't condition the side that rides on your skin just the side with the holster would be my guess

Hmmmm.....just went to the xbreed site and seems they made some changes and added new equipment. I was going to remark on the OP's post but glad I checked out xbreed first

the ruger lc9 and crossbreed holster are in the usacarry giveaway!!!!!!!!
what a sweet set up and package for someone just getting into the conceal carry scene .....i'm still keeping my fingers crossed but still saving up in my cookie jar ..........

Actually I did apply some leather conditioner to the backside of the holster as well to help soften it up. I'm going to glue some felt to the back side which will make the holster quiet while walking and prevent the rivet heads from rubbing and eliminate oil transfer to my clothing. The rivets are used to retain the kydex part of the holster. I also warmed up the kydex with a hair dryer to make the fit a little bit tighter so the holster locks the gun in place a little better. Cross Breed makes their holsters with a "generic" fit which allows you to custom fit it to your needs with a hair dryer. I also had to remove a small bit of leather so I could get my finger around the grip of the gun at the bottom of the trigger guard. Now it's starting to look like a pretty good holster that will fit my needs perfectly.
