An excellent presentation using the FBI's uniform crime reporting numbers that clearly demonstrate that violent crime numbers have declined dramatically in the last 20 years. From 1992 to 2011, violent crime decreased 50%, while the national murder rate fell 54%. Yet, over the same 20 years, firearms ownership has skyrocketed, and firearms carry is at historic highs.

Use this information to speak with those who are still willing and able to think for themselves. This is the data we MUST have to counteract the coming efforts to severely limit our Second Amendment rights.

If the gun grabbing special interest was about reducing violent crime these statistics might be important. That's not their agenda. They are after the total elimination of private ownership of all guns. Government can't totally control it's citizens if they have the means to defend themselves.

Yes; however, this is the argument they are making publicly - and scoring points with. We have to force them into a position where they finally come out publicly and state their true agenda. This is the kind of information that helps us achieve that goal. For those who are still willing to think for themselves, this is the kind of data that diffuses arguments and begins to show the Anti's agenda for what it truly is.

"The numbers prove that violent crime is actually decreasing?"

"Yes. You can see it for yourself from the unbiased numbers published each year by the FBI."

"Yes, I can see that. Then if addressing violent crime and murder isn't the real issue, what is?"

"I'm glad you asked. Let me explain what this is really about....."

If you really want to set off gun grabbing special interests, have them explain why it is the cities with the most restrictive gun laws have the highest crime rates? Also these same cities are run by and have been for some tine, democrat policies.

I do that all the time!
