It's amazing he went for over 4 years with not one other officer witnessing any of those abuses and reporting it.

I notice first, released on $5,000 bond? Really?!? If all that I did was hit someone in the head with an assault rifle do you think I would get released on $5,000 bond?

Second, I noticed that the grand jury did not recommend any criminal charges be brought against him. Fired and "disciplinary action?" Really?!?

Not sure about re the charges procedure after Grand Jury indictment - the newspaper said he [Maj Floyd] was facing many criminal charges. The Chief was suspended - wouldn't be surprised if the Chief faces charges as well, ultimately. I live in rural Crestview 15 minutes down the road - glad I never encountered this guy. The paper also mentioned that the Major was fired or released from no less than three previous Florida LEAs. The Major was also involved in ramming a truck which flipped causing the pregnant mother occupant to loose the baby - drawing a lawsuit against the City of Crestview based on the assumption that the city knew they had a bad cop but kept him on the payroll.
