Cops Beat Man to Death, Confiscate Pics and Video From Witnesses

Simple answer it is possible to ship video as you are shooting it to an offsite location, thereby preserving the evidence.
 
Yes, that would have been the ideal solution. I wonder if anyone did? Or if anyone ever thought they'd need to? Apparently they didn't upload it to You Tube, that would have been the easiest.

Never heard of being able to stream video while filming it from a mobile phone. I'm sure it's possible but I have no idea how to do it. I would have stopped filming and emailed it to as many people as possible, including myself the second I saw a deputy coming towards me, for future upload onto YouTube.

The witnesses went home after the arrest. The police went to their homes later to get the videos. They had time to send or save them elsewhere, though they probably never suspected they'd need to.

The fact that this story has only appeared in what can only be termed as 'alternative' media tends to make me skeptical of the claims.
 
Qik video which is now owned by Skype would allow you to stream as you were filming.

It also appeared in many other places, including in their own city paper. That just happened to be the first place I came across it.

I'm not a cop basher. They continue to do this because there is very little downside for them. They either get off or very little punishment for them.

When videos of them, they tell people to stop or get in the way or just plain take the cameras and phones away without their consent. Cause who you gonna call to

stop their unlawful attacks on victims and/or witnesses? Jack booted thugs in a police state. I hope the FBI can do something. It's pretty obvious they can't or won't

police themselves.
 
I have a lot of respect for law enforcement officers and what they do, but that in no way means that I'm in any way unaware or disbelieving of the fact that there are bad cops out there. If the true story turns out to be the way it was depicted here, those officers are deserving of prosecution and severe punishment.
 
I usually give cops the benefit of the doubt even when there seems to be a mountain of evidence against them. It's because I know how often video only shows one side of an altercation. Even though there were several people that recorded it, they could have all shown up late in the fight. None of them said they were there when it started. So I'll reserve judgement till it's all over.
 
I am former LE from 1970 to 1984. Back then there was something called the Rule of Law.
We (cops) were trained to and had to abide by some recent Supreme Court Decisions that defined what we could and could not do.
Miranda - Mapp - Terry just to name a few.
Today we have a POTUS - a US Attorney General - several US Congress people Many Senators and several Governors that figuratively wipe their butts with the Constitution and could give two shats about any thing the Supreme Court says if it doesn't fit their agenda.Barack Obama and Eric Holder at the TOP or the Head of the Executive Branch.
The Executive Branch enforces the law. If we (the country) are allowing them to violate and chisel away at the Constitution and disregard the Supreme Court, why should the cops of today worry about Miranda - Mapp vs Ohio or Terry vs Ohio.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
(States that are passing gun bans or registration schemes are flipping the bird at both the Constitution and the Supreme Court rulings about he 2A.)
But is okay, it is for the children.
 
One day, and I hope to live to see it, we the people will stand up and with one voice say ENOUGH! Then start throwing the jack wagons out of office.
 
How many officers and how much violence does it take to subdue an individual.
My guess not that many and not that much, given the acknowledged intoxicated state of the victim.
It all smacks of Rodney King all over again and question arises whether we as a society have learned anything since that occurrence.

^^^ This! Even if the immediately rip the phone out of my hands, unless they pull the battery, it is uploading any pics or video's I just took.
