Convicted felon

If that violent, then either kill them or never release them. That is the flaw is this endless argument. BC1's friend is a classic case in point. Give this man his rights back!

Think of that friend as a father, son, a daughter. Are your "never allowed weapons, voting, jury " ideas the same? A "white collar", one time error crime? I think not.

Not even to mention the unalienable rights of self defense once released from incarceration.
In theory keeping them incarcerated is the best thing. But these damn thug-huggers keep releasing bad people who offend again. just look at the guy who recently abducted and killed that poor female realtor. He had a looooong criminal record. But he's free because some schmucko thinks he's reformed. BTW, if anyone knows a female real estate agent PLEASE convince her to carry a gun.

The line of thought I was addressing was violent offenders and yet the example you presented violated a cardinal rule that sooo many contributors provide to legal questions asked. Don't believe me, don't ask a cop, don't trust an FFL regarding the law, spend the money and ask an attorney to get the proper answer. With that in mind and the fact that even a supreme court upheld the conviction, yeah he isn't going to be whole again.

Do I like the idea, he11 no. Do I necessarily agree with the outcome, not really. But life is a crap shoot and you have to deal with the consequences of your actions, even when you don't think it is fair. Do I like the idea of all the laws regarding firearms sales and ownership, HE11 NO. But until they are appealed or changed I do everything with in the law to ensure I don't loose what I have to protect myself and my family. I wonder now how much was going to be saved by his policeman's discount and if it was worth the trouble.
