"Constitutional Carry" in North Carolina?

Would be nice to have the law amended and or totally abolished. I was never a fan of the Sheriff having "Ultimate" power of granting or denying my rights without any redress or adjudication by a court of Law. I would also be happy if they would amend the Laws to CC/OC in a restaurant that serves alcohol as long as the permit holder has zero BAC. Was fighting for that prior to moving up here from SC.
I do believe there will be some changes to NC with a take over of the House, Senate and Gov's mansion. As for recompense for sterilized minorities, the DEM's did it with full control of the houses and Gov, they should pay for it out of their pockets!

I did not know sheriff has right to deny a chp. Thought nc was a shall issue state. I knew he has abilty to deny purchase permit. I say chp holders now should be allowed educational and state grounds. And they dont need background checks or purchase permits. If you get rid of chp and keep purchase permit bs then makes it harder to buy for people like me.

If you have jumped through the hoops and secured a CWP then a purchase permit is not required. You show your CWP permit. I don't really have a problems with the vetting process IF and ONLY if you're securing a permit to CC out of State. They will not be able to get around that without losing reciprocity with other States.

I would say there has to be. They must conform to training and background checks that reciprocating States require. That's why they reciprocate, we have similar requirements for a permit. With that said, will the State of NC continue to support a program that only a few will want. It'll be up to the Legislature to figure out. I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST that you contact you State Rep and Senator and give them your views. Let em know you're on em and want action

I do add a caveat that this is ONLY supposition, we'll see how it goes in the next NEW session. BUT contact your Reps all the same to tighten their view on what their supposed to support. They're elected to voice your views, If you don't give those views to them, thay no idea except what they stumped on.
