I was just trying to figure out what I'm going to be for Halloween. My wife and I are going to a friends house to hang out and do some trick or treating with their kid and the neighborhood kids. As I was thinking about the costume I also though, am I going to be carrying? Didn't take long to answer that with a Yes. I'll definitely get a costume now that'll still let me conceal my Glock 26 but also access it quickly. I could just throw a sheet on and cut some holes in it.

Not me. Too many kids around, dark, unable to see what's behind the bad guy in case a round were to go through..
I'm not willing to risk hitting a bystander and the environment is heavily biased in that direction. I'll rely on cqc if it comes to that on Halloween. If I didn't have that to fall back on for whatever reason, I might consider differently.

That's just me though. Carry on. No pun intended =P

i'm in IL so i cant.. otherwise i would be... saw a cool bandit cowboy outfit... already got a gun and holster for it lol... and it would be concealed cause there was a trenchcoat part of the costume...

Those of you who live in open carry-friendly states could just go as cowboys. That's the easiest way to pull it off without all the looks and stares from antis. Plus, accessibility isn't compromised.

I like it! Too bad no open carry here in Florida.

I do plan to take the kids trick or treating, walk around town and enjoy the decorations. And since I ALWAYS carry, I certainly will not leave it at home just because it's Halloween. Gonna have good flashlights, too.

you could always carry your fishin pole with you also and go as a cowboy on his way to go fishing. lol. I dont plan on dressing up but I do plan on carrying, openly sounds nice. i wonder if the wife will carry also :to_pick_ones_nose:

Naa! I'm too old to go Trick or Treating, and besides that, some kook with an AK-47 might jump out and shoot me, or be shot by me! Even at 68 I'm still pretty fast...

Well, if your going to wear a big ol' sheet, then you might as well wear a big ol' gun too!

Absolutly. I carry everywhere 24/7. You never know what you might run into. I go a lot of places that there are kids and a lot of places that it is dark. I don't see that as an excuse not to be armed. I don't really celebrate Halloween but if I were to and if am am out when it is going on you can bet I will be armed.

I always carried a pistol when my daughter was young and I took her out for Halloween. Now that she's 23 she can carry her own pistol, I'm staying home.

I would not leave mine at home. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. And to keep from worrying about missing your target have your gun equipped with a laser. I have laser max for my Glock 19 but any laser will work when that red dot hits their crouch they will usually turn and run away meaning no shot has to be fired. But just in case you have to fire a shot make sure you hit what your aiming at and that the bullets in your gun will not exit the target. I would use Glaser Safety Slug or Magsafe ammo as they claim they will not over penetrate the target and will not pass through walls. I have heard that they will go through walls and that they won't penetrate the bad guy/gal enough to stop him/her. So the best advise I can give is use what ever ammo you think will suffice and be sure you hit your target and know what is behind it. With any luck the laser will scare them away and let you go about your night.

Our kids are long gone (Thank God), but I'll be on the decorated front porch handing out candy to the kids.

Kids are not the problem, it's the adult-aged "children" who come around right at the end of the T or T session that I always worry about.

Not paranoid, just careful.

I go out with my kids and a few friends who have kids. No different than any other day. So Yes I'll carry. Just need to be extra attentive...

To many child molesters and other assorted weirdos out during that time so it's a yes on carry. Just means more diligence should the need arise. I should state that my kids are all to old to trick or treat now but I carried in the past while walking around with them.
