Would it be possible to acquire a non-resident permit from another state that is recognized in Pennsylvania while being under 21? Any information/advice would be much appreciated!

Simple question: Can you get a non-resident carry permit from another state that is recognized in Pennsylvania while being under 21?

Thanks! Will simplify.

My question was more directed at you to do the necessary ground work in figuring this out. It is ultimately your responsibility to know and follow the law, independent from what an Internet gun forum expert says.

My suggestion would be to look at Handgunlaw.us to get an overview of Pennsylvania's carry laws and the carry laws of the states that Pennsylvania has non-residential reciprocity with. You would need to read up on the actual state and federal laws to be sure.

It is my understanding that purchase and possession of a handgun in Pennsylvania is legal with 18, but it is up to you to verify this. According to federal law, it is legal for you to acquire a handgun from a private party in the same state, but not from a gun store (or other FFL), see ATF FAQs.

The applicable state law can be found here: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/LI/CT/PDF/18/18.PDF. The applicable federal law can be found here: U.S.C. Title 18 - CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE.

As I said, I would start with figuring out which state would give you a non-resident carry permit that is recognized in Pennsylvania? My guess would be none, but that's just a guess. I may be wrong.
