Concealed Carry on Long Island

I currently possess a sportsman's license for my two pistols, but cannot carry concealed unless traveling to or from a range or gun club. I would like to apply for a CCW permit, but wonder if it would be an exercise in futility. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

I guess they changed a bunch of laws since 1999.
You have - official document/statement- you can carry a loaded handgun, on your person, to and from the range and gun club??
That is the strangest regulation I have heard of.
Be that as it may---you would be in violation as soon as you crossed into Queens or anywhere in NYC and maybe other counties.

I had a NYC permit for over 20 years... Loaded with restrictions.
There should be a list of qualification that you must meet-reasons why you want/need to carry a handgun.
Where on long Island are you?
