'Concealed Carry Neighborhood' Sends Message To Would-Be Thieves

Sounds like a great idea, deterrence is a great crime stopper. They should also have security system signs spread out all over saying every single house has a security system.

Look at Kennesaw GA, when criminals know they can die, they will choose another neighborhood to rob.

You greatly underestimate your adversaries. Be careful.

No not at all. One that can't read is probably even more dangerous.

I would say that is wrong based on the amount of education the recent mass murders have had. Symbols hold a strong value too, blue octagon sign in front of a house is known to be a security sign. A sign with a gun inside a red circle and a slash is a welcome sign for criminals.

But, in any case, be careful. I for one am positive those signs will help reduce the crime there, especially if they are true.

I have a sign over my garage door that reads "We Don't Dial 911" in great big metal letters. I live in a rural community and our local sheriff deputies love my sign. Word has got around and they have all come by to view it. Some have told me it has brought more patrols to my area, which has made our little piece of paradise safer. Gotta love a man or woman in uniform.

even if i had an adt or the like home security i wouldn't advertise that i did....i'd let them find out the hard way .....same with advertising i'm armed ......

why would you want them to damage a door or window to find out? advertise it (they are not breaking in to steal the alarm system). advertise and they MAY just move to the next house that has NO SIGN.

I'm guessing they'll just end up with a higher class of criminals. The bad guys will be armed and expecting a gun fight, plus it makes the neighborhood look like it has more worth stealing. I really, really hope I'm wrong on all this though.

For those that "No Hablar Eng-glaus".
