I've tried to find out through the internet and the 2012 Travelor's Guide to the Firearms Laws of the 50 States and all I can find out is info on Vehicle carry by non-permitties. What I need to know is "Whats the Virginia, Ohio & West Virginia laws on concealed carry in a car in thoes states" ?
The Virginia Gun Owners Guide says " To have a loaded handgun (or unloaded for that matter) hidden from plain sight you must have a concealed carry permit. It really doesn't spell it out in plan words, before I leave in my car with a coincealed hand gun in any of these states I need to know whats the law so I don't get pulled over and sent to jail, Please help with anything I can reference as the correct law from these states.

I believe Dave Workman has an android app that is fairly up to date on the carry laws for all 50 states

You are not required to notify in Colorado (CRS 18-12-204)

A peace officer may temporarily disarm a permittee, incident to a lawful stop of the permittee. The peace officer shall return the handgun to the permittee prior to discharging the permittee from the scene. (18-12-214)

It is unlawful for any person, except a person authorized by law or by the division, to possess or have under his control any firearm, other than a pistol or revolver, in or on any motor vehicle unless the chamber of such firearm is unloaded. Any person in possession or in control of a rifle or shotgun in a motor vehicle shall allow any peace officer, as defined in section 33-1-102 (32), who is empowered and acting under the authority granted in section 33-6-101 to enforce articles 1 to 6 of this title to inspect the chamber of any rifle or shotgun in the motor vehicle. (33-6-125)

Search for app: legal heat. It also has links to each states laws. You can also find this information via search engine.

If you are still in doubt, call.

Just call a local gun shop they will confirm
Dear god in heaven, NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

The only two WORSE sources of ACCURATE information on gun laws are cops and gun control groups/the media (they're the same).

For Ohio, you can go to the Ohio Attorney General's website and download the CCW booklet, or go to the Ohioans for Concealed Carry forums.

In Ohio, if you're in a vehicle and don't have an Ohio CHL or recognized equivalent:

Firearms must be unloaded, to include magazines AND speedloaders.

Regardless of license status, you can NEVER have loaded rifle magazines in a vehicle.

If you have a CHL, most of the restrictions were recently removed. That means (among other things) you no longer have to carry in a holster if you're carrying on your body in a vehicle.

This is what justxboxin is referring to:

(5) “Unloaded” means any of the following:

(a) No ammunition is in the firearm in question, and no ammunition is loaded into a magazine or speed loader that may be used with the firearm in question and that is located anywhere within the vehicle in question, without regard to where ammunition otherwise is located within the vehicle in question. For the purposes of division (K)(5)(a) of this section, ammunition held in stripper-clips or in en-bloc clips is not considered ammunition that is loaded into a magazine or speed loader.
