Charles I am not 'worrying' or 'panicking'. Would you like to sit in front of me at the movies while my gun is pointed at the back of your head whether its in a holster or not? Can you tell me that 100% without a doubt there is no way that gun could every go off while in the holster? Could you also tell me that if a person was killed just for watching a movie possibly with family you wouldn't give it a second thought? When I looked at the guy in front of me and realized my gun was pointed at his head I thought to come here and ask for everyone's thoughts. Doesnt mean I wont go to the movies again and carry the same way I have been, it means that there might be a better way to do it which in my case will be to not have one in the chamber. That way I have my firearm on me while at the same time knowing that if some 'ghost' or whatever pulls the trigger there will be nothing coming out until I rack one in.

I could care less if you sit behind me in a movie theater with you "weapon pointed at me". You know why? Because I won't ever know that you have a gun unless you pull it out and show me.
So, should I stop going to the movies now because someone might have a gun that I don't know of? Should I now worry whether or not the guy next to me has his gun holstered at my six o'clock position? Dear god! Now this thread should be about worrying about who might have a gun pointed in my direction?

We gotta start watching out for those possessed, demon guns that can shoot themselves.

I use a "sob" holster so my gun is always pointing at the floor. I would try that if u are worried about where your pointing.

I carry a fullsize M&P in a N8 Squared IWB holster and my barrel is pointed at the seat. Even when I slouch, my barrel never sweeps anybody.

What I want to know is how are you carrying a Crossbreed at 1 o'clock and it's pointing forward and you manage to sit as well. I use a Crossbreed too (albeit for an XD or 1911) with a forward cant and with either left or right draw the muzzle is pointing to the rear. That leather is rather rigid and I have problems sitting and not digging in if it's anywhere near the 2 or 3 o'clock position let alone the impossible at 1 o'clock.

-It is logical and responsible to address a for real danger.... whether that be to one's self or to others....
-It is illogical and foolish to attempt to address a danger that does not exist....

Please provide cites and/or links as to how many folks have been shot by holstered guns pointing at them... in the movies or elsewhere....
If actual factual incidents where holstered guns just "went off" and shot folks can be found in sufficient numbers to be a concern... then... be concerned. Otherwise...... this worry is just another irrational fear of something that need not be feared.
By the way.... there are so many people carrying guns either openly or concealed all around us everyday all over the place that it would boggle most folks' minds if they knew the actual number. Odds are that sweet old granny behind you in the supermarket check out line has a gun in her purse. And when she turns to look at the magazines her gun is... gasp!!!!... pointing at you. But with all the people carrying guns all over the entire country........... I don't seem to recall one... not one... incident where someone was shot by a holstered gun.
Oh... to anyone who just doesn't like the idea that their gun might be pointed at someone? Change carry method/style or sit/stand in a way that the gun doesn't point at anyone. ..... Or to anyone who doesn't like the idea of someone else's gun pointing at them............. sit/stand somewhere else.
By the way... that comment I made about granny with a gun in her purse? My Honey is a granny and she always has a gun in her purse.

To the OP: In my State it would not be legal to carry in a movie theater so my gun isn't pointing anywhere anyway. Which is not to say that somebody elses's could not be pointing at me while I watch a movie. Actually this time it could not since we sat in the uppermost row ;-)

I still don't understand how your firearm is pointing at the seat in front of you. When I am in a sitting position, my belt is about 90 degrees in relation to my leg. How is it that when you are seated, the belt is on the same plain as your leg?
Try sitting upright, instead of slouching.

As much as you worry about how you carry a gun My money says if I was a bad guy it would be very easy to disarm you and kill you with your own gun. If anyone worries how they carry a gun best not to carry one.

Some people I know that work in very dangerous places in different parts of the world If they carry a gun with an external safety they take off the safety as they holster the gun.
I also have trained with people that trained with Rex Applegate They have told me that many times Applegate would by pass the safety on the guns he trained with. His idea was simple and one that I share. That being soon as your gun clears the holster the only thing that needs to be done is start working the trigger

I carry my Glock 23 in an IWB holster with the barrel at about the 7:00 o'clock position which gives me a good drawing position standing or sitting. But when sitting the barrel of my glock is still pointed to the same position. If it were to go off it would fire straight down. And since it is loaded with soft hollow points, after firing into the floor there would be much less chance for a ricochet.
