I was wondering if any of y'all knew that if I was charged with a disqualifing crime when I was a minor can I still get my concealed carry permit or not?? I was cahrged with a weapon on school property, a lil pocket knife in the glove box of my truck when I was 17. I used a defferred prosecution and did community servic. I can legally buy and own firearms. Any help would greatly appreciated.

you may have to dig up the records of the incident and let them review it but it would be a shame if they denied you for having a knife in your glove box when you were 17 ffs even the cub scouts were allowed to carry knives on their uniforms back when i was a child

Some states allow some crimes to be expunged from your record under some circumstances.
I've already told you more than I know about it.
See a lawyer versed in such matters to determine if there is a possibility in your specific case.

Yea I have already applied for the chp I am on day 31 of the wait. And i know the charge is showed as dropped I believe and my file is locked. Hopefully it won't keep me from getting the charge was 9 years ago and I was a Jr Fire Fighter at the time. It was kinda bs how I was treated by the Cop like a criminal hand cuffed and put on the ground. When they called me out to do a random search of my vehicle I even told him there was a knife in the glove box and his response was ok no problem thanks for letting me know. i mean I can walk into a gun shop and by guns so I think I should be able to get the permit.
