Hi guys, looking for some advice... i bought a Colt Defender 1911 .45 acp roughly 2 years ago... the first few hundred rounds the gun operated well and i had very little issue with it. it then began to jam and have failure to extract many times... i changed the recoil spring, i tried all sorts of different ammo, i even bought wilson combat magazines, it just does not feed reliably or extract reliably... i send it back to colt a total of FOUR times... each time they told me they fixed it with some different piece, (first time they replaced the barrel, next time they told me the rubber grip was too tight making the mag stick, third time they told me they adjusted the extractor,) the gun STILL jams and does not feed, im so fed up with colt and their "gun smiths" that i dont know if i should send it back a fifth time...
does anyone have any input on this or what may be wrong with it, the the new cartridge will jam up underneath the previously fired one before it has a chance to extract, occasionally the slide will lock back during shooting even though there are more rounds in the magazine... i dont feel its a reliable ccw firearm with these issues...
thanks
Ryan
