A Michigan man was fatally shot during an alteration outside the home of a Colorado prosecutor and sheriff's deputy.

KDVR.com reported that a deputy district attorney for Colorado's 14th Judicial District called 911 late Monday to report a stranger at her front door behaving erratically and causing a disturbance.

"The intruder pushed his way into the house and an altercation ensued. It is believed that shots were fired during this altercation outside the couple’s residence," said a statement obtained by the station from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Coroner's officials said Tuesday that 32-year-old Joshua Lee Stevens of Coral, Mich., died in the shooting.

Suspected intruder killed outside Colorado prosecutor's home | Fox News

So let me get this straight...
It's okay for a Prosecutor to shoot and kill a suspected intruder outside of his/her own home, but it's 'illegal' for a tax paying citizen to shoot and kill an intruder outside of their home??

Hypocrites!!

Ok, upon reading the title I couldn't stop myself from giggling....

What were they "altering" seeing as there was an "alteration"...

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

so the "intruder" pushed his way into the home, started the altercation, then was shot outside of the home? sounds weird at best.

Sure, gettem outside so you don't get blood on the carpet or holes in the wall. Works for me IF you have the horsepower to get away with it. But for the rest of us, it would be an excuse to confiscate our guns as well.

If he forced his way in, and they forced him back out, why would they have to shoot him ?
Didn't they get the problem under control before they shot him ?

Exactly!

The blatant double standards for 'Them' versus the rest of us 'peasant taxpayers' is astounding.

Depends very much on the circumstances and I'm seeing very little detail or substance in this report. Was he shot inside the home and just died outside? Did he continue fighting as he was being forced outside requiring the person to defend themselves with deadly force? I don't see a problem in either case they were in the course of defending their home just because they got dragged onto the lawn doesn't mean their self defense rights end, he's still fighting and an imminent threat, it may not fall under castle doctrine anymore but it would fall under legal self defense. Sure if they kicked him out the door and shot him while he was laying on the lawn that'd be one thing but I don't think that's the case.

And at this point I imagine tensions are pretty high for Prosecutors in Colorado and Texas in particular, where people keep assassinating them and their families by just shooting them the moment they answer the door, not that that would excuse a bad shoot but I don't blame her for answering the door armed and ready to defend herself.

Statistically speaking you are far more likely to be murdered if you are a store clerk, cabby, or pizza delivery guy...but who gives a **** about them anyway. LEO are far less likely to be shot but somehow they have the green light to kill in just about every circumstance!

This entire story just makes my stomach turn....The hypocrisy of our so called 'lawmakers' is absolutely disgusting imho.
