CNN stand your ground article

This is an interesting read. The "facts" seem filtered like they always seem to be from the mainstream media. I thought some who frequent here might want to read it.

Unstable ground: The fine line between self-defense and murder - CNN.com

Taco bell shooting sounds guilty as all get out to me...poor Workman case is nothing but sad all around...I'd like to see all the facts about all of these cases, but going on what CNN tells me that is how i see two of these.

It's easy to make your case when you can cherry-pick only the cases that support your arguement.

Having watched CNN for a few years (we didn't have a choice with Dish at the time...) I barely believe what they are saying now...The constant mention of the Trayvon Martin case seems a little bit too much for me. They are trying to get audience to listen/watch their show by headlining the SYG argument and comparing it to the Florida story. They have a story...or stories, why can't they think of something to support the story on its own without the mention of the Zimmerman case? Just saying...a great story and a good storyteller can stand on its own without borrowing credits from someone else's case.

The media is all about making money.
The truth seldom matters.
I'll wait for facts.

Their news isn't about making money. It's about ideology and propaganda. If it were about money, channels like MSNBC would already be gone. You are spot on about the truth, it doesn't matter. What they want you to believe is all that matters to them.

Even in the event that there is some truth, they never tell the other side of the story. They always find a couple cases that may appear to be sketchy, then proceed to skew the main topic of their displeasure. In this case, by not mentioning the hundreds of cases per year where SYG shootings were justified and saved the lives of innocents.

When I was in the military, I was a Soviet Studies Specialist. The two state run newspapers were IZVESTIA "News" and PRAVDA "Truth" They used to say that there is no truth in "news" and no news in "truth." It used to be funny. Now our media is where theirs was.
