CNN... a serious news outlet?

CNN a serious news outlet? No, they have Piers Morgan. Enough said!

Good point. I was just a little surprised at what the video showed. I mean, how can they be that stupid to think they could pull that off and nobody notice? Then again, after thinking about it, knowing their history as well as their ideology, it really isn't much of a surprise at all. They really think they are that smart and that we are that stupid. Elitist morons indeed.

CNN= Children's New Network. They haven't been considered a serious news network for well over 10 years. Their presence in airport waiting areas drives me bananas and just reinforces the notion that we're surrounded by low-information people.

Funny you should mention that.

Back in the mid-90's, I had a flight scheduled on Saturday morning to return home after a weeklong business trip. I turned on the TV in the hotel room and it was abuzz with the news that the Unibomber had promised to blow up a plane at LAX that day. The local newscaster said anyone who had a flight out of LAX would need to arrive at the airport at least two hours early. (Of course, that's normal now since TSA has screwed everything up.)

Anyway, when I arrived at LAX, everyone who was flying out of a particular terminal (regardless of flight number) was herded into one very long line. LAPD was out in force. The airport folks were on bullhorns announcing that anyone holding a ticket to a particular flight needed to come forward to be checked in.

A CNN camera (unmanned) was placed on a tripod to broadcast the happenings. I stood in front of the camera for over an hour. My wife in Ohio was watching me all the time.

No big deal, but I'm certainly glad I didn't try to "hit" on the lady in front of me.

To the crowd they cater to, low information, DNC, left wing socialists, Obama administration.... They are a serious news outlet.

If you take into account that they have managed to reach literally billions of viewers who should know better, then yes. But as far as reporting fact, no. What's important is that you know to read from multiple sources and make your own decision.

Big business now.

News is no longer reported just for the sake of reporting, News reporting is big business and therefore being conducted in a measured enviroment to insure that the story they wish to get across is in fact portrayed properly for affect. :nono: So this kind of journalism doesn't surprise me in the lest, I'm just surprised that they (CNN) allowed themselves to get caught doing it by the public. It is obvious that so much was going on during the Boston incident that different people (CNN film crews) used the same person unknowingly which lead to their exposure. :hang3: How many other news outlets use the same tactics to provide the story as they want it portrayed to the public. :fie: Could we find this tied to the coverage of the last two presidential campaigns and what else is being done to lean the news. This is just one occurance that has been caught and exposed.
