Civil War And The Litmus Test - "Will you shoot Americans?"
Dr Garrow was recently contacted by a high ranking military official who implored him to reveal the truth about a "litmus test" that is being proposed by the Obama administration to the military asking the question "will you shoot Americans if they won't give you their guns?"

NO. 7 Months ago there were a slew of people guaranteeing a Civil War in 6 months *Yawn*. Maybe they didn't count for leap year or the Chili earthquake, or maybe a comet passed to close to the sun, but that civil war never happened.
Will a Civil war ever happen? Maybe. I tell my kids maybe a lot too.
Can I do anything about it? I keep some ammo around. Not enough to be in a combat situation 24/7 for a year.
My best guess(s) about the ammo buy was:
#1. Having enough ammo for all LEO's in the event of a natural disaster such as the Yellowstone Super Volcano.
#2. In the event the entire power grid goes down they still have their ammo.
#3. To help supply the civilian population in case of invasion. (The Government knows what ammo we use).

Keep your powder dry Pilgrim!

REALLY??????? Then you'll believe them when they show up at your door and say..."I'm with the government and I'm here to help!" Good luck with that!

Don't just isolate one line like that, It makes it look like you've been sipping grape Kool-Aid all night... REALLY!

I think what Obama forgets is practically all the vets I know as well as most of the military hates his ass. If there were to be a civil war it would be damn short as libs would have to call the cops and most would be on our side.

That's actually what I used when my sister thought it was insane to keep guns to fend of tyranny. She was looking at the military and thinking us with our rifles and handguns aren't going to stand a chance against tanks and bombs. I simply pointed out that those tanks and bombs will actually be on our side! I'm pretty sure there's nobody that hates the current government more than the military. They're the ones that have to pay the price for all the stupid decisions made.

I remember a little country I visited for a couple of years forty plus years ago. They "Didn't stand a chance" either against tanks and bombs, oh yeah, and helicopters, battleships (1) jet aircraft and more.

May we never forget the war that we lost, those that gave their life and those that were never returned.

I think a better question to be asking for the litmus test of the personnel in the military would be "if there is a civil war, will you stay loyal to the president or side with the citizens of the United States?".

And if there is a break out, it won't be a civil war in the sense that it would be North vs the South or blacks vs whites or even the 'haves' vs the 'have nots'.

It will be a war between the people that want to save this nation and preserve it in the Constitutionally bound Representative Democracy and the ones that want to turn it into a communistic state.

JMHOOC. YMMV.

OK, so tell me where in the forum "rules" it says that I'm required to respond to ALL 3 of your "Points". I thought the first two were pretty much the same, covering an 'event' whether a natural disaster or breakdown of infrastructure, which would affect a large area and/or millions of people. That said... I believe that point has been discussed in other threads, but OK, here goes.... Have you seen how long it took the Feds to get water to New Orleans after Katrina, New Jersey after Sandy? LEO would be overrun far sooner than the ammo would ever get there. Plus, don't think LEO are going to stick around waiting to get overrun instead of going home to hunker down and protect their OWN families!

The ammo buy by the Feds leaves some questions. Why does Social Security need millions or rounds? Is granny going to charge the local office if her check doesn't arrive? Her arthritic fingers prevent her from breaking the glass and if she throws her body against the door...well...broken hip! Why does the IRS need millions of rounds? If I don't subscribe to Obamacare, are they going to force me at gunpoint to sign the forms?

It SHOULD be a fairly easy decision for those in the military. They owe no LOYALTY to the president. While they agreed to obey the orders of the people appointed over them, they also swore to protect and defend the CONSTITUTION. NOT the president. Trouble is, the government schools, being what they are, do young people today have any real idea of the significance of the constitution and that oath?

Those who do not believe in the core concepts of the United States spelled out in our founding documents are free to go elsewhere. In America you do not have to agree with the core concepts but trying to remove or alter them kids of revokes your card.

I don't think that Obama does trust either the military or retired veterans. Remember that military personnel stationed in this country aren't trusted with firearms. And Homeland Security would like to disarm veterans for PTSD or any other excuse. DHS believes that veterans pose a serious terrorism threat and need to be watched. I believe that this is also the reason that he is arming non military government employees, so that they can serve as his own defense force. Remember that he suggested in the first campaign that we needed a civilian defense force as well armed as the military.

I don't believe the majority of the young or the old do. I don't believe the majority of vets and civilians do either.

Look at how the national guard handled Katrina. "I can't believe we are taking our own citizens guns from them...I just can't believe it..." Saying this as they are going door to door...

The next question should be, "Are we willing to shoot American soldiers and American police officers that come to take our guns?"

Apparently, from what I saw at Katrina, they don't get paid to think, they get paid to follow orders.

Are we talking about the same Constitution that Obama and Holder have been using to wipe their behinds? That Constitution?

The problem is... most of grunts that will be on the front lines going door to door are too young to know what damage they will be doing by following orders. All they will know is that their superior officers told them to go collect guns or face prosecution and/or persecution. So, do you think a newbie private or specialist will get in his commanding officer's face for a heated discussion about the Constitutionality of their actions...OR... follow orders and knock on (knock down) doors?

I believe so...that same Constitution 99 out of 100 Americans couldn't tell you what's in it, when it was written, or who wrote it.

What bothers me more than the "young" troops being too young to understand their not sticking up for the Constitution, is the "old" officers ordering its demise even though they are "old" enough to know better. Doesn't matter if their a young grunt or an old General...they get paid to follow orders Constitution be damned.

My problem with the above is dissemination of propaganda by higher ups to teams telling them "These people really are not citizens, they're terrorist" MOST grunts don't question why, they just do or die. Ruby Ridge, David Koresh Waco compound. Propaganda planted intel to the unknowing will and has cause many a deaths. Manipulate the facts and forces will rely on intel supplied.
