Now, If they could just get the criminal element to honor that request, then they'd be doing good.

To the misguided liberal mind lawful gun carriers ARE the criminal element.

Another business caving to libtard pressure... too bad they'll never know if this works or not... it's not like the thugs carry their guns on their hips for the managers and employees to see.

After another read... the statement was only about "display of firearms" in their stores. Guess they don't count concealed carry (but would no doubt further cave to pressure and say that theirs is a blanket statement concerning all firearms). However, I would argue that carrying a gun on my hip open is not a "display." I'm not calling attention to it.

I just don't get it! Why carry an AK47 into a restaurant? Is it because they could not get a concealed carry permit? And then pose in the low ready position.

A political statement perhaps? Part of the right to free speech? Some folks carry signs as a visible means of expressing their political beliefs... and while people carry guns for many reasons some folks carry guns as a means of expressing their political beliefs.

Also... a concealed carry "permit" is NOT the right to bear arms but is the exact kind of infringement that "shall not be infringed" refers to because...

When you have to ask for permission (to be "allowed" to have a permit) from the government you do not have the unfettered ability to exercise a right... you only have the infringement of needing to be granted permission from the government in order to be allowed to exercise a right.

The Bill of Rights is not a list of things the government says we can do... it is a list of things "we the people" told the government it cannot do.

If they were trying to make a statement, it worked. I would not want to be in a restaurant with armed as*holes that looked like them either.
This was nothing more than a study in stupidity.

It doesn't matter what you think, if they have the right to bear arms, they can choose however they want to carry. Unless of course you want to control how, what, when, and why some one can carry...I believe that's called gun control though...is that what you want?

Gun control is gun control. In my view of it, you are either for constitutional carry or you are not. There is no open versus concealed versus only here versus only there discussion. Either we have the right and the government abides by the laws set forth in the founding document, or there is control.

Quoted for truth and "liked" 10 billion times!

And I would add... if you don't respect my right to protect my life and the lives of my family, we can get a burrito somewhere else. Much like what the libtards tried with Chick-fil-A, we need to fight back with our presence and our patronage (or lack thereof). Scratch Chipotle off the list and move on.

Good thing our Rights cover as*holes otherwise you wouldn't have firearms either.

From the OP article:

Last year, Starbucks Corp. also told customers that guns were no longer welcome in its cafes after it had to temporarily close a store in Newtown, Connecticut, to avoid a demonstration by gun rights advocates. The company said it shut down the store out of respect for the community, where 20 school children and six educators had been slain.

Has anyone else heard this story before? It's the first time I heard it. I recall the letter that the CEO, Schultz, wrote and just took another look at it to see if I had forgotten any references to closing a Newtown store. There are none. Yahoo! and AP may be making chit up out of whole clothe on that little tidbit.

I've never even heard of "Chipotle" before. Don't think they're around here, but we're not big Mexican food eaters anyway, even less when it comes to Mexican fast-food. If I happen to notice one, it'll be no problem to drive on by and me and my open carried weapon will keep going to a more authentic Mexican restaurant down the road where my wife and I usually go if we have a hankerin' to make a run for the border.

So a couple of posts above mention pictures. One said something about an AK-47. To what pictures are you referring? I don't see any at the OP link. Not that I care what or when someone carries their AK, but it was mentioned that it was being carried in the low-ready position, which to me is both hands on the weapon in a combat-ready posture, and if that's true, I would have a criticism or two to level towards someone carrying in that manner. Muzzle up, or muzzle down, pick one, but muzzle at an approximate 45° to the ground is going to sweep feet and legs of those around you if you move around at all. If somebody saw a picture like that concerning this story, you should link to it or post it up here. If not, you should clarify that you saw something like that unrelated to this story.....or you made it up if that's the case.

Quick interwebs search netted this... dunno if this was what prompted it all, but here it is anyway...
