Chicago's KILLER Summer

I read an article a few moments ago that described (quite literaelly) Chicago's killer summer; that is to say it is open season on the streets of Chicago.

To put the number of murders in Chicago into perspective for you; more people have been murdered in Chicago (so far) then the total number of US Trrops killed in Afghanistan during the same time period.

So it is SAFER to be in a WAR ZONE than it is to walk the streets of Chicago.

The difference, if you were in a war zone, you'd be allowed to carry a firearm for self preservation and the protection of others.

In Chicago... you can only hope that the violent thugs, gang bangers, career criminals will heed mayor Emmanuel's threat that they better take their violence into the alleys where we can't see it anymore and to leave Chicago's children alone.

And today on the radio... the Chicago police have announced a new policy that will keep violent criminals in jail longer... 48 hours longer that is.

For non-violent offenders in Chicago, you will now have to wait an additional 48 hours becore you can see a judge for your bond hearing. While this is intended towards the gang bangers, I somehow don't think that once you are 'in the system' there will be much effort to sort out the gang bangers from the guy who got arrested for not paying his parking tickets.

Well one thing is for sure, those 48 hours sure will save a lot of lives. NOT!

What is the common denominator in all these killings. Guns. Make gun violence punishable by death. Ban large magazines and ammo purchases.

A friend of ours had to go to Chicago this week for her work.
I warned her about the out of control criminal elements in Chicago.
She looked at me cross eyed as if I was being paranoid.
She also happens to be very 'anti-gun'.

She said,
"If it's God's will for me to be raped or killed, then it's God's will and there is nothing that I can do about it."

I tried to inform her that,
"God helps those who help themselves."

She replied,
"No, that's not written anywhere in the Bible!"

Apparently she's perfectly content living with the sheep mindset.

Hummmm. Chicago has never figured it out, and people getting killed has been a past time there going back to at least the 1920's. So, they have no effective expertise on the subject.

Now, Switzerland has the least amount of people being murdered, and they require every household to have a gun and every adult to know how to shoot.

Well that's nice of mayor Emmanuel to take such concern:stop: and to politely ask the violent thugs, gang bangers, career criminals to please take your violence to the alley's where people can't see it, and you little rascals better leave our kids alone..... No one can say he's not doing his part to curb Chicago's out of control crime:rolleyes:

I look at it like the common denominator is Chicago preventing it's citizens for being as well armed as the BG..... I guess I'm the crazy one....

The following link is to an Op-Ed piece that address your "solution", especially as it pertains to the latter 2 points. As for the first point, The death penalty has not deterred the shooters in Chicago because they know that the trials and appeals ( at our expense) will take longer to go thru than they will live on the streets anyway, so where is that deterrent? Now if you were to say - Death penalty, without appeals and deals, that might have some impact.
Op-Ed: Sikh temple shooting will disappoint gun prohibitionists

Another stupid anti comment. If you are the good guy and you run into a gang, you'd want all the ammo your gun could hold. The gangs are always going to have both. Why not give LACs the ability to protect themselves? The CPD has no duty to protect you. They are there to protect Rahm and company.

Using this same logic, we must immediately outlaw cars and gasoline, also alcohol, cell phones, fast food, and the list goes on... because more people are killed in car accidents. Whether they are eating their fries, texting on their cell phone, if they are drunk, or just unlucky like the pedestrian in Chicago last night who was killed by a taxi cab that jumped a curb. The truth is CARS KILL. They are the common denominator in all those terrible and gruesome deaths so we must act and act today... Write your representatives and insist that they ban all forms of motorized transportation because it will save tens of thousands of lives.

There is no fear of the death penalty in Illinois because before leaving office (to go to jail) Governor Ryan commuted all the sentences of all death row inmates and signed a law that abolished the death penalty in Illinois. He also ordered hearings to be held for every death row inmate to determine if their sentences were too harsh.

No consideration for the victims, or their families. But that is the chicago way, where convicted fellons are registered to vote; and vote they do.

Ask your friend if it were her daughter that was being gang raped, beaten, crying for her mom to help her...

What would she say or do to protect her daughter. Tell to relax it'll all be over soon and then pay for a lifetime of therapy and wach as her daughter commits suicide to finish the job her attackers didnt?

Or would she jump on them bare handed, fighting, kicking screaming, gouging dpoing anything she could with what she had in her hands to save her daughter from that terrifying experience.

While your friend doesn't mind being raped, perhaps she should go to a rape crisis center, or perhaps volunteer to work the phones at a suicide help center because her lack of compassion is completely inhuman.

Banning things is the perfect answer! It always works. Just look at what happened when we decided to ban cancer.
