Changing From Resident To Non Resident

I’ve been a resident of South Carolina for five years and have a resident concealed weapons permit that will expire 2012. My question is I’ll be moving to Pennsylvania in about six months and was wondering how difficult it will be to change my resident concealed carry permit to non resident?

PA takes less than a month to get.. Get non-res now and change to res when you get there.....

In South Carolina you must be a "qualified non-resident" which means that you own real property on which you pay property taxes.

Correct:

SECTION 23-31-210. Definitions.

As used in this article:

(1) “Resident” means an individual who is present in South Carolina with the intention of making a permanent home in South Carolina or military personnel on permanent change of station orders.

(2) “Qualified nonresident” means an individual who owns real property in South Carolina, but who resides in another state.

Looks like you will have to have the County Assessor sign off a verification that you own property and pay taxes in SC:

FYI....PA doesn't have resident/nonresident....No matter which sheriff issues the license...would just need to renew/apply with the sheriff of settled residence.

Looks like I will not be able to get a South Carolina Non-Resident CCW because when I relocate to Pennsylvania I will no longer be a property owner in South Carolina.

Maybe I should be more specific....they do issue to non-residents....but a non-resident license from PA doesn't say "Non-Resident".... leasantry:

I do have a New Hampshire Non-Resident concealed carry permit so I guess that will cover my carry in PA until I receive my PA concealed carry permit.
