Chalk up another one for the good guys

Good for him! With so many BG's getting bolder with thier crimes these days, everybody needs to be more aware of thier surroundings than ever before. Women and Elderly are being targeted more than ever for these petty crimes....and these crimes are tragically taking the "Deadly" route more often than not.

I'm glad to see that this gentleman defended himself and his property!

God bless him, but did he check who it was coming through the door? I mean so many things wrong with this picture, but atleast it was someone trying to rob him and not someone else...

NC's recently revised Castle Doctrine specifically addresses this issue. You are justified in using deadly force is someone is attempting to force entry into your home (or vehicle).

"The new law defines a person’s home as any property with a roof where the person lives and also includes "curtilage," which is the area immediately around a home. It defines a person’s workplace as any property with a roof used for commercial purposes. It says a home or workplace can be temporary or permanent and specifically says either one can be a tent.
Under the new law, the lawful occupant of a home, motor vehicle or workplace isn’t required to retreat prior to using deadly force.
The new law presumes that a person who unlawfully and by force enters or attempts to enter one of these locations intends to commit an unlawful act involving force or violence."

‘Castle Doctrine’ revised - journalpatriot: News: person can legally shoot or use other deadly force against another, applies to homes, vehicles and places of work, expresses the belief that one should be safe from illegal intrusion in one’s ho

Come on, AJ, get real; would his next-door neighbor, his nephew, or another family member be prying open his door with a screwdriver and hammer?
