I've tried searching here and some other various forums CCW options for women's running but haven't had much luck. My wife is an avid runner, 5k, 10k, halfs... She's also getting a Glock 42 for Christmas! I'm trying to find some ideas or options for her but most of what I've found have been geared towards men or people that aren't that much into distance running.
I guess my question is.... Are there any avid women runners on here and what's your setup?
Normally on a 5k run my wife doesn't want to carry anything that interferes with her running or "smacking" around on her body. She normally ties a key to her shoe laces. She also normally runs with 1 or 2 more girls but I've pretty much put my foot down and said you are going to start carrying protection. She realizes it now too. She wasn't aware but a couple of her friends have their CCW although they are lax about carrying while running.
On longer runs she will carry a Nathan's bet with water bottle. I was wondering if something like that may double as a holster. She doesn't like the idea of the spandex running shorts with the built in holster too much. Chaffing is her biggest concern. Nothing like having something rubbing against you for 3+ miles.
I appreciate any ideas. Myself, I'm not a runner, I hate it but it is a necessary evil for fitness.
